I think it is hit or miss. I was super skeptical when I called usaa for a tow and they said they had auto locksmith service they could send as well, but, it worked! I was giddy. Lol.- Robert Kinsler

Thank you for the follow up. Confirming for the gap tool you need at least one working key. Patrick replied to my email with that info. The good news is, a auto locksmith was able to come program the two eBay keys I had. No trip or tow to the dealership needed. So relieved to have gotten...- Robert Kinsler

Update: All installed. Will look a towing features through gap this week. I installed with the 4 pin on the right. Went in much smoother. The backside of the plug is slanted a bit to cheat to the taillight side so when you install with it flipped it fits better in the front but puts just a bit...- Robert Kinsler

GAP tool Discount
Update here. Gap tool needs one functioning key to work. BUT a fantastic local auto locksmith had the program and tech to program my two spare fobs I had ordered. So, don't need gap for why I bought it before, but happy to have this all fixed. My rig running again and two keys!!!- Robert Kinsler

Did you program your key without issue? I just busted my own copy today and should get ny gap tool on Tuesday. I ordered it on wed, so decent timing on my part. I also snagged mine... after a bad day with the rig. I broke my only key to the thing (long story) but its totally smashed. Won't even activate the emergency failed smart key reader under the steering wheel. Uggggg Just emailed gap to find out if the tool will allow me to program two ebay...- Robert Kinsler

Brake Controllers & LR4
Thanks for those tips. Planning to knock this out with a buddy of mine who has the tools when they all come in. For the brake controller, is that just a nice to have or a must have? Meaning does the lr4 have some basic control of the trailer you don't upgrade in this way?- Robert Kinsler

I just snagged the controller from British Atlantic along with the trailer wire harness and an ox hitch. Love the lance! I want to do the 2185 but thr hitch weight really is too high and its out of my budget. Still hunting! Curious, did you buy new? My little ones are 3,5,6- Robert Kinsler
