Im looking for a decent quality trailer hitch and bike rack for 4 adult bikes.

I wont be doing any towing and will only be using it a few times a year.

Any recommendations ?

ebay receiver. used kuat, yakima, thule, 1 up, whatever is available, and get the four bike model. they are all expensive when you get them for 4 bikes. but maybe you can find one on craigslist.
The only reason you would want a different receiver (Rhino) would be if you needed the clearance under the rack for some reason. I did because of my departure angle in my own driveway.

AtlanticBritish has a bolt-on hitch that fits into the factory receptacle. It might be a great solution for you. However it appears to be out of stock at the moment. Still, something like this could be a quick and solid route to try:

I like AtlanticBritish products and customer service. Honestly for towing I like having the Rhino hitch that Fuji4 also mentioned. But for your use case, suggest you try to find one of these items above.

I have the Thule 2-bike tray system and love it. It is heavy but solid as a rock when mounted. It's true that the 4-bike systems get pretty spendy. Preowned is the key.

That is a really interesting option for a hitch.

While I do like being able to remove it, so I have the clearance in the back when I need it... this is going to be the right option for many people. Looks solid.

Thanks. I just ordered the Atlantic British part. Now just gotta find a decent bike rack. Some of the highly rated ones on amazon look decent.

For your rack make sure that you go with a tray or vertical style. Putting four adult bikes on one of the base models where the frame sits on cups is a recipe for scratched bikes.

I agree and will never willingly use that style again. Plus with kids bikes and certain other frame geometries the bikes hang at wacky angles with messed up centers of gravity, etc. A tray is the way.
