New RR owner here. Question on rims.

Hey all,

Just got my first RR in black. This SUV is everything I expected it to be and is amazing. Yes I even expected and was not shocked to find the infotainment issues, but small price to pay so far.

I was curious if anyone painted or powder coated the 1065 rims that come on the HSE? I love the blacked out look, but also wanted the 20 inch rims so my wife puts less nics in the rims. I wanted to see if anyone had photos with those rims in black. I assume it will look fine, but thought I would check.

To see what they would look like, your best bet is to just do an online search for your particular year range RR with "style 1065" as part of the search terms. If there aren't any examples available, your next best bet is to get a photo editing App like Snapseed.

Snapseed has an editing feature called "Brush" that allows you to use your finger to "paint" parts of an image darker or lighter.

So, if you can't find an example, take a picture of your RR, then open it up in Snapseed. Select "Brush" and then "Exposure" in the bottom submenu that opens up. Set the brush to -0.7 or -1.0. Use 2 fingers to zoom in on your wheels and then "paint" them darker.

Once finished, zoom out and have a look at it to see if you like the wheels in black. You could use the various settings within the Brush editor to reasonably see what the wheels would like like in black, grey, white, and even a sepia/bronze of sorts.
