    Leaking power steering lines

Thanks @DaddyStovePipe , The build went well and no issues with power steering, although I had everything replaced. Here are some of my thoughts from your previous post - Q: Are there other jobs i should do while in there? A: Always.... Q: Any tips or tricks on removing the lines and fluid...

    Installed CarPlay

@richord - can you detail what specific model you used and what instructions you followed (did they come with the device or did you watch YouTube)...? Sounds like a great install - any photos?

    Oil level sensor leaking

Right - you need to know which engine you are working on...the diesels are completely different.

LR4 Electric Parking Brake (EPB) Services and Replacement

@Mozambique - many thanks and we did mine in conjunction with a lot of other services / work. Thus, the work was a lot easier because we had a lot more room to maneuver in there... I honestly can't see how it could be done without pulling out some of the junk back there (just no room and hard...

    Paint Cost

Thanks @powershift and you are most correct: plastic/rubber upkeep is work and combined with the wheels...never been a waste of time. I have just repainted a number of things on my 2010 LR4 HSE including the hood, lower and upper tailgates, and rear driver side door. That doesn't include the...

What Did You Do To Your LR Today?

I think a much-needed "upgrade" (probably should have come stock...). Good luck to all and while I haven't needed mine yet...it is useful and if required, definitely worth the time/money/effort! I ordered mine direct from Italy although I understand Luck8 stocks them as well. Maybe someone has...

    Showoff Your LR4

@callin : Thanks - It is the LR4 "Protection Bar." VPLAP0022. I noted a few still for sale on eBay if you are interested although I doubt these are still manufactured or available from the dealer (who knows). They don't really protect much...see a photo from 2011 where I got side swiped just...

    2011 LR4 HSE oil question

No - do not overfill the oil. 8.5 is it unless you are leaking/burning oil. It is possible the oil temperature and level sensor isn't working well so perhaps that is the problem. All worth investigating...

    2011 LR4 HSE oil question

The oil change refill is 8.5 quarts (what you would vacuum or drain out) and the total oil in the engine (i.e. in the sump) is 10.5. 15 is a bit strange....

    LR4 DTC U0128-00 and U0159-00

Tribe, I have been consistently getting the Diagnostic Trouble Codes for Bumper Sensors / Front & Rear Sensors for years: ACM—Audio System. U0159-00. Lost communication with parking assist control module. Body Control. U0128-00 (28). Lost communication with parking brake module. I was hoping...

    LR4 Stainless Steel Brake Lines

Speaking of rebuilt brake calipers...here is a shot of what the front calipers looked like as we were reassembling everything. We have had no issues and the rebuild brakes are working great. So we have come a long way and I am (overall) really happy with how these look and feel (once the work...

    LR4 Stainless Steel Brake Lines

And here is the rear end after doing all that work...you can easily see the braided (aftermarket as mentioned above) stainless steel hoses. Unlike the front end, these hoses fit properly (we had to fabricate a couple brackets for the front end hoses out of sheet metal in order to route them...

    LR4 Stainless Steel Brake Lines

Tribe, I wanted to follow up with this job. A bit of a bust for some parts. So it turns out that the "long" steel brake lines I purchased to replace the ends going into the wheel wells...don't fit directly onto the factory lines after all. I think this is actually a refurb kit the manufacturer...

Baja Designs LP6 Pro LED Auxiliary Light Pod for LR4

And the lights when it matters...at night. First and second shots are with the headlights on at night (with DRLs and therefore the BD "backlit"). The second and third are the headlights on with brights on and therefore full LP6's on. That's a lot of light! I hope this is helpful for folks...

Baja Designs LP6 Pro LED Auxiliary Light Pod for LR4

Here are a few daytime shots of the lights in action once completed. The first was when I was playing with the different positions. That is half lights on - a feature I decided not to use (this is position 2 on the BD relays). The second is a daytime shot with the daytime running lights on...

Baja Designs LP6 Pro LED Auxiliary Light Pod for LR4

Then came electrics. In my case, I already had the OEM wiring harness installed from the 2015 AUX light install. The OEM harness ties-into the existing electrical system through the high-beam lights. This is because, in Europe, one cannot have everything wired up on separate switches (to prevent...

Here you can see what things looked like once we completed that phase of the install and had the pieces of aluminum installed (to match things we painted them satin black). FYI - I am keeping the clear plastic protectors on (i.e. "Rock Guards") the lights because I like to protect things. You...

Baja Designs LP6 Pro LED Auxiliary Light Pod for LR4

When fitting the lights (with their brackets) onto the OEM Aux steel uprights / brackets, which you can see here, there was simply not enough height and offset to properly get the lights over the protection bar. This would probably work well if one did not have the protection bar but in my case...

And there are two very basic but essential elements to installing Aux lights with the factory bumper & cabin set-up (vice an aftermarket heavy / steel bumper): 1) Brackets and Supports, 2) Electrical / wiring. Here you can see what things looked like when we began the process of reinstalling...

Baja Designs LP6 Pro LED Auxiliary Light Pod for LR4

So the first step in the lighting saga is simply to break everything down and order some new lights - which you can see here. This job was really a small job within a massive LR4 rebuild project so the whole truck was getting ripped apart anyway. In case of the engine bay and front end (shown...

Baja Designs LP6 Pro LED Auxiliary Light Pod for LR4

In the beginning... So when I bought the truck (2010 LR4), I bought nearly every accessory from the dealership, including the plastic "Protection Bar" (which couldn't really protect anything). They didn't have accessory lights so I bid my time and considered my options. In 2014, I decided to...
