Yeah, was just posting about an O-ring discovery and that they don't need lube (wasn't sure lol) and they can lose their elasticity over time which causes them to fail. So it might be a combination of the powder residue and O-Rings getting long in the tooth.- powershift

Locking Fuel Door
The Brits are more trusting? Mine doesn't lock either and haven't thought about it until now. But every other modern vehicle I've owned had a release from the inside, much like the hood or hatch releases. I worry more about the latch mechanism breaking and not gaining access than theft.- powershift

But when it starts to rust in a given spot, the whole panel section needs to be replaced because the rust comes back. According to wikipedia, its the BV58 engine that is also in the BMW M3 with 523 HP and 479 lb⋅ft. For the Grenadier, they detune the engine before installation. So that probably means the drive train may not be a good candidate for additional power, unlike the the LR4 with the same drive train...- powershift

If BMW puts that engine in a coupe then it probably will get some aftermarket support for it. The LR4 V8 has 375 HP 375 FT. I love my '12 HD. All D4 years are built strong with a hydroformed steel ladder frame. There is a D5 refresh coming out that is 1/2 azz. I'd like to see Land Rover do a body-on-frame design with a gasser V8 and no hybrid tech.- powershift

Oh that is horrible lol. It sounds like the timing to light the air/fuel mixture is wrong. Look for a plug in the engine bay that isn't where it should be or is unplugged and look at the air intake channels too.- powershift

Look at tune because those codes could mean the A/F ratio is wrong. Look at the knock and knock ****** PIDs too because if it is running lean it can lead to engine damage.- powershift
