    Putting LR4 Brakes on LR3

There is no question the lr3/4 looks so much more awesome with +2" and the 32" tire, especially when set out on a wider stance as well. Trust me, I'm a sucker for that look too. There is no need for the rods whatsoever unless you install the strut spacer. I cannot understand why it is such a...

2012 LR4 with Early AMK Compressor Failure

This is just one more reason running lifted on rods all the time is a poor choice. Not that he was doing this, but so many people want to ride around town and everywhere paved while 'lifted' via rods or iidtool which is 100% silly. Using the strut spacers is a PITA to set up but then the air...

255/55-19 ATTURO TRAIL BLADE MT TYRES

WTF is "Atturo" ? I will never understand people who spend $$$$ on a vehicle but then skimp pennies on something as important as a tire when it's so simple to choose high quality providing nearly zero worries. A 19" so called 'MT' is a complete joke on the buyer, almost as pointless as a 20"...

2012 LR4 with Early AMK Compressor Failure

or just complaining too much LOL I know my lr3 is on a 2nd compressor that was new probably around 75k now at 150k. Keep in mind people, new compressor can also require programming to chat w the car properly.

Replacement of Air Strut Assembly: 06 LR3 HSE

I look directly at the line and nut going in every time. Not sure what you're trying to do but if the top of the strut is roughly 4-5" below it's mounting plate, and then turned approximately 45 degrees counter clockwise looking from top, then the air inlet is roughly the closest thing to you...

Replacement of Air Strut Assembly: 06 LR3 HSE

Heat shield is 100% not a hindrance. You have to work slowly when it comes to nut like that one doing it by hand at the end and carefully keeping it wedged between fingers. Cutting that line was a bad idea... to attached you just need to rotate the strut and draw enough line through. With...

    change of 4.4 l on my LR3 to 5 L or 3L

LOL "notoriously"? No. Notoriously, LOL. Exaggerate much? Sounds like the classic 'knows literally nothing about Land Rovers" question.

    LR5 Release Updates?

Don't worry, it'll be more of a disappointment than the just released Canon EOS RP.

    change of 4.4 l on my LR3 to 5 L or 3L

Yeah, but I had a SC RR, so even the lr4 while nice, didn't really excite me enough to move from the lr3. I had a very good deal ready on a CPO 2013 then decided it just didn't matter enough.

    change of 4.4 l on my LR3 to 5 L or 3L

A G63 is a "fast" body on frame suv, and some others are. The lr4 is about as much quicker as the D2 was over the D1 but not as much quicker than the lr3 as the lr3 is over the DII. I drive a lot, and I like to go fast, and also pass but I've realized that if I need my BMW to make a pass, then...

    Putting LR4 Brakes on LR3

nobody puts rods and bigger tires on then wants to add wheel size limiting stupid lr4 brakes. Just get better brakes... EBC or some other. Do some DD to choose. I put on the SMALLER EBC rotors, slotted, and their pads, maybe green, and the feel and realistic stopping power are basically the...

    change of 4.4 l on my LR3 to 5 L or 3L

"lr3 is slow"? Then how'd I get a ticket rolling 83 not paying attention while on a call ? LR3 is "fast" when compared to a Disco II and it seemed sporty compared to my D1 so.... Swapping another lr engine into an lr3 is also dumb. All that work to end up with a boring result. Put a...

    Tire Wear

    wouldn't that be nice
  16. jwest

    Tire Wear

19" or the tires that come stock on lr3/4 will not last 50k. I got so many miles out of the long wearing bfg ta ko and will know in a few yrs how the Michelin MS2 wear. Vehicle weight and driving style in town likely contribute to the equation.

    Tire Wear

You're welcome! Most people only drive maybe average 10k / yr so they would notice as easily but for several yrs I was doing over 30k so it all became much more apparent then.

Ha! finally I have a "known issue" to fix on the LR3 - rear tailgate latch switch

Atlantic british has a repair video. it's of course a lot easier to be preemptive on it though

    Tire Wear

Yo Fish. A few things can improve the mileage wear % dramatically and have worked quite well for me. Rotation 4 vs all 5: I like to rotate all 5 tires so that the spare is the same wear. This will ensure there are zero issues about size on an axle if I need to use it for 3000 miles on a trip...

Ha! finally I have a "known issue" to fix on the LR3 - rear tailgate latch switch

The other day the upper hatch button wouldn't cause anything to happen, no sounds, nothing. :/ Used fob to lock and unlock to see if it's a glitch...nope, nothing "F..." ! :( Drive down the road... I hear "clink-uh" The tell tale sound of when you release the hatch just enough to cause...

LT 285/65/18 Cooper Discoverer STT pro all terrain

FYI - that Audi model is not capitalized.... it's just "allroad" ;) thanks for playing. I'd buy you a beer or coffee without hesitation if we could ever meet up! Sorry it was written condescending, it probably was, though not entirely intentional. You should hear my aunt and uncles go at...

Replacement of Air Strut Assembly: 06 LR3 HSE

More or less yes but you cannot as easily access that nut with the strut in place. The very easiest thing is to have an IIDtool and use it's function to deflate corners.

LT 285/65/18 Cooper Discoverer STT pro all terrain

LOL that detail has been there all along. If you don't use the rods to bring the sensor arms into middle of their happy zone, then you get errors. So adding physical parts that literally add height is ALL semantics to you and it's also the same as a magician tricking you into seeing it...

    Sunroofs don’t open

I think the potential joke, or unfortunate belittling that occurred, is in the specific "none of the THREE sunroofs open" ..... when only 1 is designed to open in the first place.
