That's a solution that works for sure, but I do run a trash bag on my back, and I have a tire cover on my spare to boot. I think I'll have to find something to mount on the jerry can holder which will house both the camera, license plate, and light.
Hey gang. While I currently have a spare tire mount on passenger side, I'm adding the jerry can carrier to the driver side which will block the plate and camera. I'm interested in pics seeing how y'all tackled the relocation and what you used, where you ran the wiring etc.
TIA
Hi all, reviving this as I’m due for new tires, like TODAY, and am definitely going interested in switching from 265/65 to the 255/70 “skinny”.
Do we have any confirmation that they’ll fit, or mostly fit? Looking at the new KO3 in LT. TiA!
Have you tried just calling and asking? I get the question, but why aren’t you just calling a dealer, saying you picked up a used Rover, and are asking for docs minus any PII of prior owners.
No, and this is what was killing Rivian tires because Rivian allows driving at speed in their "conserve" mode (aka lower height). Access mode isn't how the truck's alignment is setup so I'd guess that prolonged driving will eat your tires.
I'm no expert, but I'd question connecting the house battery to both the alternator AND the Victron Dc/DC. Doesn't seem like it's supposed to work that way, especially given different chems.
Nice creativity! Do you have better pics showing how's it's mounted to the truck? Welded to the bumper support? How's it's removeable?
How's the quality/beefiness?
But is Traxide still the most elegant, modern solution? I'd think going with a Victron dc/dc for an onboard lithium battery would be great, but haven't actually done this myself, that Traxide kit just looks messy.
Agreed. There's a reason pretty much nobody use Lifepo4 as a starter. Just get an H8 AGM from Costco and move on to better stuff! and yeah, add a dc/dc and put a 100ah lithium in the truck.
Do let us know if you find em all! I get remote hijinx more than I'm comfortable with and every time I'm off-road, I have to push to the far back of my mind what happens if the truck decides not to detect my key for starting...
I think there's an antenna someplace in the rear bumper cover area that detects if the fob is in close enough proximity to unlock. The fob sometimes isn't detected, or may be blocked. Happens to me regularly if my key is buried in my gear.
Does anyone else not live dangerously and drive around civilization without their spare?? Must just be me.
Mine's an emergency thing and I don't do the 5 tire rotation rodeo.
Yeah not sure about terra firma. My setup is a custom fab deal welded into the Tactical 4x4 bumper. I believe we used 4xInnovations mount which is super stout. It allows me to just unbolt the one large bolt holding the hinge in place and pull it all off. If we're the same, schlepping our kids'...
It's a PITA, I'll tell you. In fact, I find it such a pain that's it's easier for me to keep the carrier removed for daily life and only re-install it when "adventuring" beyond the mall. The note is that this is my daily commuter and family battle wagon in town. I then add two Traild tanks in...
