Haven't decided. After dropping that coin on the compos, gotta divest some assests to pay for another ~$1200 in tire costs. On top of that, I don't even physically have my truck yet! But, I'm pretty certain it will either be Terra Grapplers which I had in a 20" on my '12 RR, or the BFGs which...
He's referring to load range of the tire. For the tires currently being discussed in your wheel thread, the manufacturers, Nitto/BFG, makes the same size tire 265/65 in two different load ratings, with "E" being the higher rated tire. It's heavier and a few bucks more than the XL range, but is...
This must be true just based on weight. The BFGs, Ridge Grappler, and Terra Grappler G2, in their LT counterpart in 265, are all several pounds heavier per tire than their XL versions.
And I'd love to see anyone on the new BFG KM3s in 265/60/18. Anyone?
Actually, if you scroll to the bottom of their homepage, they have a “functionality list” that allows you to enter your model and will show the tool capabilities. Is that what you’re after? Also, the instruction manual covers basically everything it seems. At least that’s my impression after...
OP and I were in the same boat. I just got my compos yesterday...and I'm happy with them. I read everything here and just made the executive decision not to suffer from analysis paralysis. The compo and a 265/65/18 appears to be a completely proven package here so that's what I'm doing. Hope to...
Well that was quick. First mods showed up before the truck. Compos, blackout, and Gap thanks to @lucky8llc. Now, tire choices. Either Terra or Ridge Grapplers, or KO2s. In LT of course.
I just went through all this. I think first you should decide if spacers are acceptable. Next you should decide if you're OK with steel or the lighter Compos, Alphaequipts, or Evos. And if you're into black 19s, I'll have a set for sale soon. :)
Interested too, but I think from my previous experience there are one or two modes where it was locked full-time, at least in my FFRR. Also, I think the owner's manual probably describes each mode. Failing that, there's one way to find out! Run it through all the modes and see when/how your...
Got a clean bill of health and went ahead and replaced the crossovers as they appeared original. Now I just need to get it trucked 1200 miles so I can enjoy it!
Hey thanks all. The red and black had me, and made going for compos an easy choice. I do not believe this is a factory black package. But...someone did the work exactly as I would have even down to "Disco" on the hood. So, it works for me even if not OEM. Besides, a Gobi rack doesn't need rails! :)
Hey All! Well after being out of my ‘12 full size for a few years, I’m back in a ‘12 Disco with HD. I wish I could tell you about it but I bought it out of state. Price seemed fair and the ppi checked out. So now just need to get her back to NorCal!
All the usual planned overland and camping...

Ah interesting. You're correct. When checking the functionality chart on GAP's website, you see they have the paddle option only for the 6-speed. But, I've heard GAP has excellent customer service. Maybe reach out?
Edit- Weird first post. Sorry. I'm waiting for my truck to arrive in once piece...
