How are roof rail nuts/thread secured?
Try penetrating oil first. Put a few drops in every day for a week or two. Patience is necessary for penetrating oil! I use Kroil penetrating oil. It’s the best stuff I’ve ever found. If you can get purchase with an extractor it’s only the rust and crud holding it in and the Kroil will deal... -

Yeah, Krill, the Brembos are pricy and that’s without labor! My days of doing that stuff are long gone. It remains an option since I have the 20 inch wheels. LR Bedford left a message late Friday saying they’re replacing both wheels’ calipers and that the vehicle will be returned tomorrow... -

Nope, I never heard of them, but then again I’m no longer a car guy. The last car I seriously worked on myself was my MGA and that was ca 1960. I can prob still balance the intake on dual Strombergs. If this dealer “fix” doesn’t work I’ll look into Brembo for the LR. -

Will our LR4's be desirable in 10 - 15 years, or are they just another modern day LR?
If I look hard and concentrate I see many D5s. The problem is they’re well camouflaged. They look like so many other vehicles that unless you’re looking for them specifically they’ll go right by. Unnoticed. -

Very high idle, 2800 RPM
I just quickly flick the shift knob - it doesn’t even engage. I think it sends some electrical signal. -

I’ve noticed that when I start and the engine idles at 1200 if I just momentarily put it into reverse and quickly out again the rpm drops to 600 whether or not the engine has warmed up. Perhaps you could try quickly putting it in/out of gear and see if the rpm goes to normal. -

The BBB isn’t worth much unless a business is a notorious crook, but you might first check to see if there are complaints. Is he rated online? Now here’s something I can’t amswer but it might be important. What could he have possibly done, assuming he wasn’t being malicious?
