Well at redline with the pulleys it would be at or over the 20k rpm max for the Unit. Which shouldn’t be a big deal for a moment but I was trying to hold 85mph on a long Steep grade for about 3 or 4 miles. Usually the car sits very low in the rpms because there is plenty of power down low. I...
Yeah like many here i am guessing I rely on a general indy mechanic who works on all kinds of cars and is great at routine maintenance but is out of his depth on specialized stuff like transmissions superchargers and other items. I know this and am generally ok with the trade off. He backed out...
Check out these burned gears versus the new one. I guess redlining it with all the boost bypassing the engine overheated the thing.
also Chris at velocity ap sent me this technical bulletin jaguar released on this exact issue with the set screw.
Interesting.
Update. Got the unit off the truck and up to superchargers online in Simi Valley. They rebuild a ton of Eatons. Here is the bearing noise. https://youtu.be/glHOyO1Z2dc
These guys are legit and will get to the bottom of the issue. May or may not need new vanes. We will see.
here is the unit on...
Well based on my preliminary research I am thinking it’s a faulty bypass valve. Not sure how likely it is but it would make sense given the loss of power and the restart causing it to work again. Seems like it’s either mechanical getting stuck or that the boost was too high for the tune or...
Well I hate to be posting here again but I have a new issue. Or maybe it is a continuation of the old issue. After the snout replacement things were fine no issues. Then a few days ago I was on the highway accelerating and I got a total loss of power. Engine was moving through the range of...
well eatons recommendation is as follows :”Eaton
FAQ for Superchargers
Q: How often do I need to change the oil in my supercharger?
A: The sealed oil reservoir in a supercharger is designed to last the life of the vehicle. Changing the oil is not recommended unless you suspect contamination...
Got that warning on my long trip this weekend. Only thing I did recently was replace the main battery and install fuse taps for the dash cam. I looked at the fuses that make sense to check (although none of the pictures on the fuse diagrams really look like cruise control so I am not sure) and...
Seems pretty “dumb” to me. My only recourse at this point is to drop the noco 7200 on it intermittently. I will run the main battery for a while and see if it holds voltage. I do a fair bit of short trips so it might not be getting charged fully and there is a decent load on it with the dash...
Ok assuming I pulled the correct smart charging sensor it does not appear to have an impact on charging the aux battery. And I do get a charging fault. Let me know if I pulled the right plug.
Transtar. https://www.transtar1.com/products/valve-bodies/Product-Info/Sonnax-Kits
Call them and talk to them. I think it was $225 or $250. I got fluid there too. It’s interesting because most of these places deal wholesale with only specialty transmission service shops not consumers directly...
Not yet. I had to get a new main battery yesterday and have not had a chance to get the multi meter in the aux one. I’ll try and do that today.
On another note when putting in the H7 I realized that I had an H8 in there previously. I know I replaced it in 2014 but don’t think I did anything to...
What I want to know is how much work would it be to mount a bigger Kenne Bell twin screw in place of the Eaton m112. Some guy on the jaguar forums did it and was making the adapter plate for it. But I have not done the homework yet.
You should look on the jag forums because those guys are way...
You can look into an electric blower like torqamp. There are some shams out there but that is not one. That’s a cheap and easy way to get some more horses. Not as many as a true blower but it’s going to help
