    No sound from radio or sound system after sunroof leak into passenger footwell

    I think your post got lost, so again, if I understand the question, your audio system does not make any noise and you think it has something to do with a ground? Exactly what Land Rover do you have? It sounds like a 2005 Discovery ?? HSE but without the upscale Harmon Kardon audio system that...

    Defender(s) making a massive scene recovering a 20ton truck

    Do the new Defenders have a frame? I was under the impression that they are unit body. I understand the Ford Bronco's have a frame and I have been saying that the Defenders are upscale Bronco's so again, does the new Defender have a frame?

    2008 LR3, HSE

    2008, that is the good 3; they finally got everything right by then so of course, was time for the LR4 and to start over again. I figure the price of a 3 is some percentage of the current market price of a Chev Tahoe. As to if it is 50% or more, that is a good question.

    2020 Defender Drive Impressions.

    I have the feeling that the Defender is generally smaller inside than the 3/4. I know at the back, there is less length, but how does it feel side to side in the front seats - less width than the 3/4 or wider feeling? The Park setting being not at the top of the shifter will prove to be a real...

    Tell an LR4 guy how to love that Defender rear door?

    Yes, correct but the first purchaser is going to be like the LR3/4's, soccer Moms as a grocery getter. This is the same group that put electric lifts on the rear hatches of Tahoe's and electric sliders on the Minivans. The fact the AAA guy might have to unload the groceries to get at the spare...

    2005 to 2012 L322 Nav Upgrade

    I do not suppose a Range Rover is an LR3? I note that the display size etc above is very different from what comes in the LR3 and I suppose LR4, hence there is no kit available for them. I am actually fairly happy with my Nav display - was able to update the CD a few years back so the roads...

    Tell an LR4 guy how to love that Defender rear door?

    The side hinged door is either tradition or cheaper - you choose which. Rear hatch windows sliding down into the sheet metal below costs money; same as having the glass hinge upwards off the hinged door. Our LR 3/4 tailgate is something now only found on the FFRR which costs real money and...

    Tell an LR4 guy how to love that Defender rear door?

    I am hoping that is a few years when or if LR comes out with a 130 Defender, that the spare tyre will be somewhere other than on the door - not the bonnet either, but that is tradition. Without the door mounted spare, a 130 would be no longer than a 110 and the rear door less bulky and heavy.

    LR4 -> Defender anyone?

    You are correct. The original Bronco came about because International Harvester invented the Scout and people liked it. Ford also liked it and said we can copy that, and did. People forgot the Scout as they liked the Bronco so Ford made it more comfortable and took a Ranger and made the roof...

    LR4 -> Defender anyone?

    Yes, correct, but then why choose the Defender to copy? The only thing that does puzzle me is that the C&D articles and others suggest the Bronco is body on frame and the Defender appears to be Unit Body; ie, no frame.

    2020 Defender Drive Impressions.

    It's a Bronco! I was wrong when I predicted that the Defender would be a rebadged Ranger; instead per the link below, it is a Bronco. You will love the rear view showing the tail lights. It seems Land Rover is doing Ford's preproduction testing again...

    LR4 -> Defender anyone?

    2008 was when the economy in North American collapsed, or more correctly, the stock market. I was predicting that the new Defender would look like a Ford Ranger; I was wrong, the Defender is a pre-release Ford Bronco. Land Rover is doing the testing for Ford again. If you like the Defender...

    Drivers Side No Heat - Fixed

    It has occurred to me that probably all our older 3's are suffering the clogging problem to some degree. This year, I have been wondering if my heater is a good as it once seemed to be? Unless one side gets full cold, it is a slow process that over the years, one would not notice. I have...

    Drivers Side No Heat - Fixed

    Am I seeing an Engineers ring in the pictures? I wear something on my little finger that looks similar and is rather worn as well.

    LR3 Bumper Removal with added High Beams

    I just thought I would complement you on how good looking your 3 is. It really looks to be in nice condition.

    2020 Defender Drive Impressions.

    I am keeping my 3 so I agree with you. At least this one looks more like a Land Rover than a Ford Explorer. I am waiting for the 130 and hoping they put the spare tyre under like our 3/4's. The overall length parked in a garage would still effectively be the same as the 110 but have interior...

    hitch storage location

    I guess that would be this. The plug is characteristic of the detail LR does put into their vehicles.

    hitch storage location

    You only do it once. The best reason for removing the tongue thingy is your legs and your dignity. Even the macho guys around here with the jacked up pickups remove their drawbars once they have near crippled themselves doing a face plant while hooking one leg into it while chasing around the...

    Where is the horn relay?

    I assume you have two immediate problems - no horns and no radio. The horn thing I will address in a post perhaps tomorrow, but I presume that you have disconnected both where the conductors connect to the horn? If not do so. To get the radio and whatever else going, I am going to suggest...

    hitch storage location

    You can find the hitch receivers on eBay and the like, the only problem being you do not know their providence. The key thing is the bit that retains the receiver to the vehicle. There were a three variations of the locking bit; the green one with the red key is the newest and probably what to...

    hitch storage location

    Yes, I guess it is a Receiver. The jpg shows the newer smaller LR4 type and the big one is the LR3 original receiver. The LR4 type fits the LR3 and hangs down less - looks better as well.

    hitch storage location

    A fully loaded HSE generally did not include the hitch insert nor usually the trailer wiring. If you do have the factory trailer wiring and not the hitch insert, then even if the previous owner left it in the vehicle, someone got to it before you did. The special factory storage spot of the...

    Oem or Aftermarket Spark Plugs

    I install new NGK plugs about every 60,000 miles / four years as I am concerned about the plugs "freezing" in the Aluminum heads. I am told this is not a concern but it is my wallet.

    Engine light + "Restricted Performance" warning in cold temperatures

    Just a comment from up where cold is a norm. The heater in my 3 is good for about -35F on the highway as is the rest of the vehicle. Even by Made in USA pickup standards, that is good and it starts etc. While a dirty MAP is probably the problem, check how the piping between the air filter...

    Metal Trans Pan - Gasket?

    Did you use the shorter machine screws? The metal pan kit should have included shorter Torx M6 x 22.5 screws along with the metal pan. If you reused the longer screws M6x 28.5 that are associated with the plastic pan, then yes, you will have a "can't get it to seal" concern at the least. You...
