Routing for stout wires from battery to back?

There's a little rubber grommet underneath the brake booster, it's near the 11:39 minute mark of the video. That's THE best way to do it. There's also another route that's not recommended, but I needed 2x 4 awg wires routed to the rear. One was routed under the brake booster as recommended, and...

    Head Removal

I'm at the waiting for parts and cleaning while waiting stage. I was fortunate to score all oem bnib thermostat, power steering pump, and 1x ignition coil for $60 while waiting on dealership parts. Unfortunately, I didn't document anything. An interesting note, a 50/50 mixture of any...

@powershift I have the MT45 platinum and I absolutely love it. Get the transit bag for thermal efficiency and reduced power loads.

    Main Battery Upgrade to Lithium

I'm thinking about rerouting ALL my wires too and upgrading from AGM (aux) to 2x 100Ah mini lifepo4 batteries with a 3rd 100Ah mini in a pelican case (for portability) that'll simply plugin to create a 300Ah system. Also thinking about chopping up the rear end to accommodate all this.

    Main Battery Upgrade to Lithium

People still swear by Traxide and they do a great job. My issue is the "Smart Alternator" doesn't provide constant +13V to sense charging to both batteries, for Traxide or any cheap dual battery modules. I've been running a RedArc dc-dc with solar and haven't looked back since. If I were to to...

Here's a pretty good post to look into. There's links on it that has a TON of details.

    Main Battery Upgrade to Lithium

The charging profiles are completely different. Long story short, you can't do that. However, you can add a lithium battery as a secondary battery with a dc-dc charger. Lithium batteries are sensitive to temperature as well, so be aware. Heat and freezing temps **** lithiums. Most people have...

Sudden Hissing near Valve Cover (5.0 V8)

It's very common that the pcv valves go bad and have a hole in them. Just get 2x LR133579, cheap ones on Amazon are fine too. As for your brake issue, you might want to check your brake pedal switch XKB500110. Not sure if that's the cause of your click, but the truck will do funny things with...

    ZF6 to ZF8 upgrade!

1st transmission was from factory and had a crack on it and dumped fluid. 2nd transmission was brand new dealership installed, but these idiots left the oil cooling line dangling on top of the front diff and was slowly losing fluid for however long. Found a puddle of gender neutral fluid while...

    ZF6 to ZF8 upgrade!

My observation from driving both is the zf8 has closer gear ratios and has more efficient shifting points. I care about the 2 mpgs, especially when I'm getting 10-12 mpg from mix city and freeway driving. On sand/dirt/off road, I average 7-9 mpgs.

    ZF6 to ZF8 upgrade!

A shop in Denver, CO, Roadside Werx, created a zf6 to zf8 swap kit. Just sharing and not promoting anything. Here's what they posted in the FB group I'm in. Hey Guys, there was a ton of interest in our ZF8 Transmission swap so we have put together a kit to do it. So far the results of this...

    Bad ECM or something else?

Hmm, didn't know that. Thanks for enlightening me. I guess I'm just referring to my 5.0 LR4. my thermostat doesn't have any electrical plugs on it. The nearest thing is the temp sensor.

Need some help from the experts to identify this ticking on a '16 LR4

The '14 and up SCV6 3.0s have the updated timing chain guides, BUT it's still an issue. At one point "they" were reengineering a new design, but gave up on it and just decided it was cheaper to do a recall. If you also look at it this way, the recall were for '12-'14 and the '14s had the newer...

    Online Service Manual

Recently found and wanted to share this free online workshop manual for almost every NA market vehicle between 1982 and 2013, including the '11-'13 LR4s. I find it helpful with most repairs and part numbers.

    Bad ECM or something else?

Not sure what you mean about "electric auxiliary coolant pump" or "electric thermostat". Overheating, sounds like you may have air pockets in your cooling system. These trucks are extremely difficult to get all the air out of the block. The internal cooling system is mechanical with rotating...

    2015 LR4 coolant leak

From the sounds of it, it's the rear crossover pipe. And while you're at it, you should change out the front crossover pipe as well. On these trucks, plastic has a limited life span and they will crack after a couple of years. I believe there are some aluminum ones, but I'm not sure about...

Need some help from the experts to identify this ticking on a '16 LR4

There's 2 distinct sounds, at the beginning you hear both at the same time, and at the 0:24 second mark you hear the lighter ticking sound (injectors). I'm pretty sure the other sound is the timing chain slop. Tell your buddy not to drive it and get the timing chains done before he needs a new...

    Tire sizes

I'm pretty sure the door card recommended psi ratings are optimized for fuel economy ratings/performance, traction, and air ride quality. It really doesn't matter what size tire you have, every tire shop will still utilize the suggested door card psi. It's safe to use close to those psi ratings...

    2012 LR4 - Diagnosing two separate vibrations
