According to the recall notice, the cracked flange might cause the MIL to light up. I’m guessing it would be an evap leak detection code. From what I’ve read, however, most people just start smelling fuel. -

More than likely it’s just the battery dying. My eco has never worked, but my light came on last year. Mine did the same as yours - came and went occasionally, then just stayed on. I checked the battery and it was very dead - down to something like 10V. Replaced it and the light went off... -

Anyone know if the NHTSA has any rules about how quickly they need to role out the repairs? I know they have to notify owners within a certain period of time, which they did, but seems like they would also have rules about how long the manufacturer can wait to start repairs. -

The other thing to keep in mind is that extended warranties (including LR “branded” extended warranties) generally exclude consequential damages from a failed part. So, when you talk about “catastrophic water pump failure” - the warranty might cover the pump, but it probably won’t cover damage... -

Lock the cams to remove the HP fuel pumps? I haven't done this repair myself yet, but I don't see why you'd need to lock the cams unless you're removing the chain from the fuel pump cam. The pumps just run off some kind of tappet, right? So removing the pump shouldn't mess up the timing -... -

Can you get the codes? Did the faults/suspension drop happen immediately after driving through the snowbank, or only after you were working on it to replace the tie rods and brake wear indicator? Maybe check your wheel speed sensor and suspension height sensor on that side. -

Engine gone
You might get some idea for how tight the chain is using a pick through the oil filler hole. Aside from the chain, I wonder if a failing VVT solenoid (or associated wiring harness) could cause these issues. I think it might trigger the P0018 code, but not sure about limp mode. -

Water pump is at the front of the engine. Supercharger sits on top of the engine and the pulley/snout is top front and just to the passenger side of center. Just about anything I can imaging squeaking like that is at the front of the engine - anything on a belt/pulley. How did you rule out... -
2016 LR4 Coolant Crossover, Water Pump, Thermostat Replacement
You should replace the gaskets between the supercharger and the engine. You do not need to replace the gasket between the intercooler and the supercharger. That’s per the manual. I haven’t heard of the supercharger bearings being a problem, but more power to you. -

If it does it when the keyfob is away from the vehicle, I’d suspect a short to power - maybe a bad switch right in that tailgate. Might check for codes. -

LR4 5.0 Chain Guides actual problem?
Certain its the chains? Aside from chains and valves, exhaust manifold leak can make a tapping noise. Suggested in this thread: https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/identify-this-engine-noise.43860/page-2#post-234873, although we didn’t get confirmation as to what was causing the noise there.
