So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye

Ryan - As a newbie I was very grateful for your help, guidance and mentorship with suspension woes; I always look forward to seeing the image of the dog and the wisdom that follows - A huge thank you as always and good luck with your next vehicle whatever it may be...

    Testing air suspension for leaks?

My pleasure, here's my detailed suspension thread, in particular I do the valves here (YouTube video links as well): https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/2012-lr4-reluctant-to-lower-from-off-road-suspension-mode.44636/post-240721 Other's have bought the o'ring kit from the same location and...

    Testing air suspension for leaks?

Yes, it's well known the desiccant in the compressor (to dry the air) starts to break down and distribute a fine powder in the hoses. That fine desiccant powder finally reaches the three respective valves (three at the front, three at the rear and two if I recall at the compressor) and has a...

    Testing air suspension for leaks?

Is it one side or the other or both sides? Don't rule out the rear valve, a leak in one of the three valves could result in one side lowering, you need to look at the pneumatic diagrams to understand how the three valves in the one valve block work.

Towing - I Have Not Done My Homework...

I also just went through this, I bought the British Atlantic kit that comes with written instructions and there's a video on YouTube (from British Atlantic). Install is pretty basic and needs minimal tools... The hardest part was getting the harness/bracket through the existing hole in the...

    Can't get into Extended mode

Watch some videos first and perhaps see if you can get comfortable with the work? I tend to watch many videos before tackling a job; I then assess which one I trust the most and then oftentimes I'll use it while doing the work. It really depends on the complexity of the work but I try to build...

    Can't get into Extended mode

Here's where I documented servicing the valve blocks, I believe others have used the O-rings that I used and have had success: https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/2012-lr4-reluctant-to-lower-from-off-road-suspension-mode.44636/page-3

    Can't get into Extended mode

That's seems super expensive; I watched a few videos to see how to do the swap and it looked pretty easy; I'm having trouble to quickly find OEM spring/shock prices but even at $600 or $700 per corner that would still be less in parts than they're quoting for either end... Anyway, why replace...

    Can't get into Extended mode

I believe you can also look at the air springs as they have the original date on them, I believe this is quite well documented on this and other forums. Mine is a 2012 as well (98K miles) and is still on the original springs; I have no intention of replacing them until they fail but I also...

    Threshold scratches....the ocd in me

So I can now classify myself as OCD :), here's a thread I started: https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/interior-sill-plate-protection.44915/ So you just used the grips to bend the Discovery 5 plates, any downsides yet?

Suspension Fault When Parked on Incline

I suggest figuring out what type of compressor you have (in my post I have an AMK and show pictures of it - this can help you identify what you have); then in the GAP tool you can identify what firmware you have. If there's a mismatch between the two (AMK physical compressor and say Hitachi...

Suspension Fault When Parked on Incline

I literally went through all my valves, everything, trying to chase this issue... I flashed the firmware once the GAP tool arrived and it was like a switch; the code went away and so far didn't come back (it's been 16 months)... I hope you have the same issue and resolution but defer to those...

Suspension Fault When Parked on Incline

I had a lot of fun with this very same code and also noticed issues an an incline... Here's the thread: https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/2012-lr4-reluctant-to-lower-from-off-road-suspension-mode.44636/ To cut a long story short, the compressor was incorrectly specified in the RLM ECU...

    Look at the miles

Price looks pretty darn good as well (just over $4K), I know that $5K is the number usually quoted; I also see they mark it as 19hours, my local Indy said 18hours; so good ballpark figure there as well...

Agreed! A plot would be interesting but is obviously dependent on the viscosity of the oil and other variables.

Different oil level readings with hood open

"How long was the interval between the photo ending in 14 and the one ending in 16? If you use the "hood open/cancel twice" trick soon after stopping the engine, you can actually watch the oil level indicator rise." Great question, I think what you really need to consider is how long after...
