Oil Change Just Because It's Been 18 Months?

What oil do you use when you do change it? I'm hoping this is an innocuous question as I'm curious but realize there may be some holy wars in this realm, in which case I apologize profusely for asking...

I have Por-15 added to my Amazon wish list and this is a project I was planning for the summer! I'll be curious how your daughters LR4 looks!

Buying this 2015 LR4 Lux Pkg w/ HD Pkg, but am freaking out about the RUST! Should I walk?

I agree, there's nothing there to worry about! I'm in Michigan, sure, there's rust on the cars!... If chunks of rust/metal are falling off then you need to worry but what you have here is surface rust!

    LR Time YouTube Videos

I couldn't agree more; some of the work they do is simply amazing and so much fun at the same time. I really appreciated their review of the V6 gas engine and his analysis of the crank issues (a few weeks ago now I believe). Complete kudos to Christian and Vera for the amazing contributions to...

Timing Chains INA or Tsubaki how to tell?

I guess you'd need to understand typical failure rates and then extrapolate from there, in bike chains I think the chain stretching causes the majority of issues since this then leads to additional wear on the gears which in turn leads to gear/chain slippage. In the images shown above there's...

    casting call for LR owners

    Then I definitely need not apply! That's me to a T :-).

Timing Chains INA or Tsubaki how to tell?

This has many plates (more than 11 but hopefully conveys the idea): Here we have 5 plates (INA I assume): Look at a single pin (the silver part in the image above) and then count how many pieces of metal it connects, the pieces of metal are the plates. Here's a better description:

    Ultragauge 2

I'm guessing the purpose of this is to warn the driver of any pending doom (like failed crossover pipes as an example), is that correct? If so - very cool!

    casting call for LR owners

    3. Own a vehicle in the correct age range - "2019-2023" (it's not going to be an LR4!), in which case use (1) and (2) above and get busy with Photo Shop or Chat GPT!

    Rough Wipers

Just another FYI, I noticed that my wipers are positioned to clear a little more of the windshield than yours, the wipers are typically mounted on a tapered and splined shaft; I wonder if yours couldn't be adjusted (by rotating them) so that when they're at the top of the ****** they get a...

When is it time to say goodbye?

I feel the same and love seeing how this thread has evolved, I've always got an inner smile when I go drive the lady :-) (Mad!)... Certainly, it took a while to get her the way I wanted and for sure there's a lot more work and pain involved (timing chains and cross-over pipes) but there is...

Great to hear this particular journey is coming to an end - excellent news :-). Thanks also for blazing a trail that others can follow; the value of these forums is sharing the journey and the solution when we finally arrive at it... You deserve a rest!

Fuel hatch never locks in NAS LR4?

I think gas in Europe is so much more expensive that syphoning from a gas tank is more of an issue. Just my guess...

Mine doesn't lock either. I suspect you can just inspect the mechanism and figure this out...

    Air Suspension head scratcher

I have 92K, all original, but she's lived in Pennsylvania; Kentucky and now MI so I suspect it's had a rougher saltier life! I will keep burying my head in the sand until the bags deflate but also suspect the shocks could use some love... Weather wise, from hot and humid to freezing cold snow...

    Air Suspension head scratcher

My 2012 still has the original struts, having serviced all valves with new o'rings and a new compressor mine is sitting pretty!... It was falling overnight but not by huge amounts! "I'll keep y'all updated as soon as the new struts get here. Not gonna lie though, I probably won't do a full...

    Air Suspension head scratcher

I'm so glad to see progress being made, keep up the great work and reporting :-). Also sorry to hear about the LF - Damn that's rough! Here in MI we also suffer with the salt; on my radar is to look at the frame and clean it up as much as I can... Inch by inch you reach a mile! Keep us...

    Oil level not showing

Welcome to the club, I bought mine last August and have absolutely loved it (more than I ever would have imagined)... It's given me a few sleepless nights and challenging diagnostic episodes but as time goes by I feel a little more confident in my choice (it has 90,000 miles!). This forum has...
