OBD Tools Experiences GAP IID, Icarsoft, BlueDriver

They (GAP) might be able to help you with that. They have something called the "Fast Lane" service, where the IIDTool can re-flash certain modules for a per-module price -- I have no idea if the BSM would be covered. https://www.gap-diagnostic.com/shop/fast-lane-service/ I've never used that...

OBD Tools Experiences GAP IID, Icarsoft, BlueDriver

You can do a bit more with the IID tool than read/change CCF. You can monitor / log / export various values from the various ECUs. You should also be able to scan the various ECU / modules for software / hardware versions. Also calibrate various functions, set several suspension height...

SCV6 Fuel Pump Duty Cycle - GAP IID

Of course knock R-E-T-A-R-D would be blocked on an automotive forum.

SCV6 Fuel Pump Duty Cycle - GAP IID

Same thing with knock ****** and, IIRC, one or two of the torque values. GAP says it's they're not exposed. I did spring for the Velocity AP data logging kit, and I have knock ****** for each cylinder separately, as well as multiple torque values. (I don't recall if it was...

Coolant Smell After Driving and Temperature Gauge Reading

If it was *just* replaced, sometimes there's a bit of smell as coolant that may have spilled out during the replacement evaporates/burns off. I've had 2 LR4s, once it warms up, the temp gauge reads pretty much right in the middle of the bar. How's the coolant level in the expansion tank? I'd...

Lr4 front right clunk sound over bumps or tapping break when driving slow.

Common problem and 98% chance it's the lower control arm. Try a different mechanic.

    ZF6 to ZF8 upgrade!

Those guys have also put a supercharged 5L into an LR4! Very very cool stuff! (disclaimer: I do take my car there)

    2016 LR4 Landmark with bi-colored hood

That's a vinyl decal... I'm wondering though -- is the color Zanzibar or was there another orange-ish color offered?

Hmmm, top secret engine swap forthcoming ?

    Replacing my Cooper Zeon LTZs

That's an under appreciated point. I moved to 265/65/18 LT tires on heavy 18" steel wheels and... yeah, you really do feel the road imperfections with those. If I had realized I was ongoing going to go off-roading once a year, I probably would have made a different decision.

    2012 LR4 - Diagnosing two separate vibrations

For issue # 2 -- You have the v8, right? I had similar issue on my 2012, and adding the damper in this TSB largely fixed it. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2013/MC-10224484-9999.pdf Easy fix, part is maybe $50 ? and you can can crawl under the car and do it yourself.

    H/K Logic7 system blown?

That sounds... really weird actually. I find if I turn up the bass a little bit, the system can be pretty booming with the right songs. Are you sure the levels on the iPhone and the audio system itself are turned up ? I want to say that there is a screen where you set the relative volume of...

    Shipping for Vacation

From the experiences of people I've known, you may have difficulty finding a shipping company that won't balk at having objects in the car -- fear of claims of theft / damage /etc. I would look into renting something near the destination -- if you're only looking at fire roads and not real...

Just curious, what's tricky about replacing plugs on these cars?

New Tires to replace Cooper Zeon

The Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail AT (replacement for the Discoverer AT3 4S) might be worth a look as well for a similar application as the Cooper Zeon. Much like the Terrain Contact, but a little bit more off-road ish. Also believe they somehow put silica into the tread compound for enhanced...

    Choppy idle

Curious what mileage that is at ?

First post- going to look at a LR4 soon.

I think there's two things going on with the timing chain problems... First, there were the tensioner / guide problems for 2010-2012 cars, but this was fixed for 2013 on (technically, some late-2022 build ViNs also have the newer guides). So the 2014+ won't suffer that problems. Second, the...

    Dash Cam - Best Options?

There's a couple threads that discuss hardwired installation - using switched power either from the dome light area or from the rain sensor on the windshield I believe. I think umburtob had a solid thread with pictures...

    Dash Vent Air Temp

Looking into this a bit more now that it's getting colder here... Looks like there may be an issue with where the temp sensor gets its air from. TSB here: https://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/userpics/10510/LTB00963_-_Interior_Cabin_Temperature_Cannot_Be_Set_To_Desired_Setting___TOPIx.pdf

    Metal coolant plumbing for LR4?

I also replaced my front crossover with a metal one -- I think I've posted about it elsewhere if anyone is interested in the brand. Has been about 18 months with no issues so far...

Did that also come with a bar set in the boot? I vaguely recall seeing this on the (UK) Top Gear.

    TSB not covered?

TSBs generally won't be gratis outside of the warranty period but dealer may goodwill some/all of it if you've been a good customer. The O2 sensors (and some other specific emissions devices) are federally required to be warranted for 8 years / 80 k.
