Dash Cam - Best Options?

I have been considering installing a dash cam.

Initially considering a VanTrue N5 but that's not really the question.

At least with a quick look at the vendor website, I don't see an install manual, so typical questions remain.

Mostly concerned about installation, where the wires will run, front and rear, and do I connect it to an always hot circuit or to a circuit that turns on and off?
Are drain currents an issue?

Any insights appreciated.

There's a couple threads that discuss hardwired installation - using switched power either from the dome light area or from the rain sensor on the windshield I believe. I think umburtob had a solid thread with pictures...

I installed a Blackvue (front facing and rear facing cameras) and used an add a fuse for power. Wires are all run in the headliner/door seals and are hidden.
