    Hello!

Brakes are easy. I went with aftermarket vented brakes on the 2016, much cleaner, i.e. less brake dust, than factory and they work just fine.

    Hello!

Welcome to the group! There are several threads here that offer excellent insight into things to inspect prior to a purchase - although at $1,500, it's pretty much a well, why the heck not kind of decision..... I think it depends on how much hands on work you will be doing yourself vs having...

    Newbie to the Forum

Welcome!!! Yes, very possible it's the gaskets in the oil cooler pipe along with a poor design - that was my issue on the 2013. Be aware that a new water pump will require a new pipe and new gaskets in there as the design has changed - you will need to change that entire area to the new design...

Need some help from the experts to identify this ticking on a '16 LR4

The SC aftermarket couplers from SCOL are excellent quality and fit very tightly. A solid block does not necessarily distribute applied forces as well as a designed part. The entire SC oil change and coupler replacement is a section in this video - all part numbers are in the video. See the...

Need some help from the experts to identify this ticking on a '16 LR4

It's my understanding that the timing chain issues were in the V8 (and were resolved before the V8 ended production in the 2013 model year) and are not appearing in the V6. The OP has a 2016 which is a V6. Not saying it could not be a timing chain issue - if the oil changes were not sufficient...

Need some help from the experts to identify this ticking on a '16 LR4

Agreed about the SC coupler. I changed mine at about 45K miles - already signs of wear on the shaft from coupler failure - not of concern at that time - glad I caught it.

Need some help from the experts to identify this ticking on a '16 LR4

I have the same type of sounds on my 2 V6's. I am not concerned with mine - but they are not as pronounced as yours. But I would not not be concerned about yours either - but I am no expert.... Sounds like fuel injectors. Just a note of advice on replacing fuel injectors - I replaced mine on...

Coolant leak & collapsed top hose when cold?

Agreed, if the reservoir really got low enough to suck in air, simply adding coolant will never burp the bubble - re-evacuate and refill as appropriate. Hopefully your added dye is OK - personally I don't care what any additives CLAIM - I use them only when desperate, only those that claim...

Coolant leak & collapsed top hose when cold?

Leaks can be challenging to find - even with UV. When you change out coolant next time use Rover coolant - it already contains UV dye and then you don't have the possibilities of added UV dye being incompatible with the coolant - (I only use those "universal" dye's if I am desperate.) What's...

Coolant leak & collapsed top hose when cold?

You opened the reservoir and the hose remained collapsed?? Your work was done 45K ago? If the work was recent, this sounds like air bubbles from an improper evacuation and refill, but that's a long time for air bubbles to make their way out... I would not be concerned about a bit of extra...

    2015 LR4 Windshield Wipers

I have not yet had a rear wiper spring tension issue. Lucky me. As far as misc hardware like springs, I am sure Rover will sell you one (Palm Beach Rover on line parts is amazing at misc part numbers), but there is also the website BoltDepot - an amazing resource for all kinds of bits and bobs.

    Auxiliary Battery

We all have such different experiences with what in theory should be the same vehicle. That's why I always say "in my experience", and they are all unique individual vehicles - each and every one assembled with whatever was laying about on the shop floor that particular day !

    Auxiliary Battery

I have seen many posts on the functions of the ECO Battery - but at least from my experience it seems to have no additional function other than the Start/Stop. Everything will function just fine with a dead ECO battery. I presume that everything will also be fine if you remove the battery - but...

    2015 LR4 Windshield Wipers

I still like the Bosch in front. I have vehicles in Houston, TX and Upstate NY/Montreal QC. No issues with the wipers in the cold or heat. Make sure you purchase A/B and place them on the correct sides. Note that the Bosch do not fit on the rear because of the design of the clips. I use...

Name this part from my LR4

There is a part number molded in there somewhere. Go to an online parts vendor, I use Palm Beach Rover, and enter the part number. It wil have whatever strange name Rover has given it. As for me, that's a plasticy bit...

Thermostat to water pump outlet connector

Can't do the crossovers without removing the SC - at least that I know of. As long as you are pulling the SC, you really need to change out the SC coupling (and change the oil), it's easy and I guarantee that the OEM coupling is failing and is wearing the main shaft. As a PhD electrochemist, I...

V8 5.0L Intake Manifold - what is the rear sensor?

Hmmm, I never noticed the color of mine when I had my manifold off... It gets pretty hot back there, most likely just plastic discoloration with age?? But now that you ask, why not replace it?

    Discovery Transmission issues

Those are plastic pans and are designed as single use components. It been a while so from memory, I believe that the pan for the 8 speed (2014-2016) has the filter as a built in and non replaceable component. For the 6 speed, the filter is absolutely built into the pan. As far as removing...

New Tires to replace Cooper Zeon

We ran the Continental's originally as they come as OEM equipment, they ride smooth, but otherwise performance is sub-standard. As above, I am sold on the Michelin Cross Climate 2.

    I took the leap...

Change the battery as well. I am in Houston, plenty hot here as well, 3 years max on a battery as they burn up in the heat. If you read the actual battery specifications, they land right between the H7 and the H8, although all the US shops will be recommending the H7. In my 3 LR4's I...

That's all Folks! 15 years of Rover ownership has come to end.

I am not jealous of anything Mercedes makes, I took one test drive many years ago, that was enough for a lifetime.
