i would also carefully inspect the front lower control arm bushings. before i replace our LCAs, they would give a vibration/shutter similar to warped brake rotors. -

New Tires to replace Cooper Zeon
count me in as another vote for the michelin cross climates. fantastic. had LTX premiers on it prior and they rode nicely but wore out in less than 15k miles. The cross climates are great on the highway and really good in rain, snow, ice etc... -

2012 LR4 coolant leak
as mentioned earlier, it is a dis service if your mechanic does not replace the crossover pipes and rear heat manifold while in there unless they have been replaced very recently already -

Sorry for your loss, Cindy. I would surmise that the intake manifold gaskets are just routine replacement since the intake has to be removed to change out the oil cooler. [probably a good idea but not absolutely necessary if originals are in good shape but cost will be insignificant in the... -

those codes are really not connected to coolant leaks and overheating. likely you have cracked or leaking coolant crossover tubes [front] and/or rear heat manifold leaks. both are plastic and if they have not been replaced prior, at 13 yrs old and 70k miles are shot. Maf Sensors...
It is securely attached. i cleaned them both several times with MAF cleaner. Replaced both air filters with oe Land rover paper filters. Did clean out a few dirt dauber nests in the housings...it did not set cel for a couple of thousand miles but now triggered it again as p0101. -

Thanksk, i like bosch stuff; usually reliable. Seems to me that Denso is the oem for these. I will probably give the bosch a try -

Control Arms
You might consisderr the Meyle HD LCAs. I put them on ours a year and half ago. They are solid, bushings supposed to last longer than LR, and the ride is great [no harshness etc.]. I think they were about $200 or so apeice. -

Drove a 2022 Discovery p360 HSE...ingenium 6. It was a nice ride; lots of power, quiet, towing capacity same as LR4. Comfort was excellent and I actually like the styling [many others dont] but i thiink they are sales dogs so may not be around too much longer. -

Cooling System Replacement - Dealership.
I did this on my sons lr4 V8 back in the spring. LR oem front crossover pipes about $125, rear heat manifold about $150, LR waterpump about $300, LR thermostat and housing about $75 plus a few odds and ends and 1 gal of LR coolant--total parts about $700. Safelite replaced our LR4 heeated windscreen last year. the screen is Pilkington branded. -

OEM vs knockoff gas cap
our oem leash broke a year or so ago but cap was fine. i ordered a chinesium tether and installed it on the oem cap. works ok but the tether button is a loose fit in the retaining hold. I might put a dab of glue in there at some point -

also, i dont think the dealaers really want to mess with lr4s, lr3s etc. most of techs probably arent that familiiar with LR products that are now at least 10 years old. Seems to me that local dealer has a lot of RRs and what not. I see a few D5s being serviced but rarely D4s or earlier. -

Good luck with them. I am sure the recall has to be performed by JLR dealer but you might want to consider getting a quote from an indie like performance rovers or brake and alignment ctr [both in CLT] just for comparison if nothing else. -

+1 on the cross climates. the 2011 in the family rides great. It is sure footed and tight but also comfy. I will say new HD lower control arms and alignment made it drive like a new lr4 -

yeah it is mostly labor. WP is probably about $300, coolant crossover [fronts] around $100. coolant, $30. on the v6 i understand the supercharge must come off. none of this is rocket science but it tedious and time consuming. I did our v8 in the driveway recently; took about 6 hours. also did... -

P0101 code
Hi, Ok son called me. He has isolated p0101 code on his 2011 lr4 v8. no drivability issues. Told him to get some MAF cleaner and clean both sensors and make sure pigtails are securely fastened. Any other suggestions from others that have seen this code?
