Is HD package so useful in snow?
I have the “poor mans” LR4 2011 HSE without the electronic locking diff. I’ve never had trouble with anything i’ve ever thrown at it. I live in NYC and we do get decent snow around here. -

So it doesn’t matter what route you take, the rover will still idle quietly and pulling into your driveway at 11:45pm will not wake anyone as long as you’re light on the throttle. It’s more of a low humming sound. A start however….is a different story…esp a cold one in the morning hahah -

Usually inadequate shops use sockets that don't quite fit the lugs, and they torque the crap out of them. Do the “mirror hack” screen on your infotainment system and check your battery voltage when running. In the event the screen menu options are foreign to you. Just go to vehicle signals and it gives you battery voltage. It beats opening the hood and hooking a tool up to it. Should see something... -

Maybe an issue with the keyfob? Sending signals to the truck? Could be you have a undetected slow cabin water intrusion messing with wires? That happens from clogged sunroof drains and warped windshield cowls. Or: its a battery. You never know with these trucks lol. -

How many miles on the rig? In my opinion the Hitachi compressor is pretty darn reliable, dare i say even more than the AMK. It definitely lasts about 10 years or more. What brings any of the two pumps down is leaky air struts, defective valve blocks, and leaking air tank reservoir. Those things... -

SAD ENDING TO OUR LR4
That color alone is a reasonable point as to why your truck might me worth more than lets say a white or black one in my opinion. It's a less produced color and gives it extra value due to its rarity. Maybe I'm wrong, but its a good point to bring up with your adjuster. -

uhm so from cold start my truck jumps to 14.6 volts. After about a few minutes of driving it goes down to 13.7. It stays there until I use my front windshield heaters of defoggers. Once those kick on I see voltage at 12.2. The voltage goes up back to 13.7 once I'm driving at 1/2 throttle at 2.5k... -

Thanks for the input dude. I did think about adding a capacitor, but figured an upgraded alt would've worked best. Since you put it that way along with the lack of high output alts for these trucks, ill deff be going to capacitor route. Maybe a second battery as well in case i ever do **** off... -

Has anyone come across a better alternator than the stock Denso 150amp OEM one? I've seen 250amp ones at 1.5k rpm for the LR3, but nothing solid for the LR4. There is one company that makes a 240 and 320amp alternator for the LR4. I'm really skeptical of them and think that their alternators... -
