Thank you. I don't live in a hot climate (western WA) and my '05 stays in the garage when not on an off-road or camping excursion. My '06 stays in the driveway, though. I do a pretty good job of treating them with protectant (typically 303) so I'll keep doing so. -

You can test the battery easily enough with a voltmeter. I'd still strongly recommend a GAP tool. -

Get the Bluetooth version for the LR3. Then do a calibration of your EAS. That should get you going down the right path. -

"crossover pipe" from the water pump is a common issue as is the timing chain guides/tensioner. Yeah very comfy in the LR3/4. I've folded the 2nd row flat and slept back there many times! -

Fluctuating RPM's at constant throttle (throttle hunting, surging, gear hunting)
I'd say that's a good practice, replacing the t-stat assy every 5. I recently had to change it on both of my LR3s and luckily it was caught before any significant coolant was lost. Just seems to be a wear item on these rigs. -

....don't give up on it, yet. Try what Doug suggests, at least. I'd call around to find a place that services European cars/transmissions and tell them that you have a ZF, and see what they know. At a minimum, just drain out as much fluid as you can, and refill. 140k miles is not that many for... -

Sure, for starters. Since it's been sitting around it could just be contaminated fuel. There is a BG treatment that goes through the air induction too. I would try that one and the gas tank one, together. There is also a can for the fuel rail. -

Since it was running rough I'd say that the codes are not voltage-related, but the HDC fault is. I'd be trickle-charging that battery and do more than just start it every few weeks....drive it! ....it may benefit from a BG fuel treatment at this point.
