LR4 5.0 Chain Guides actual problem?
Not likely........ Haven't encountered cam chain with slipper problems on the 86 735 or 87 325IS BMW's which have 245K (735), 317K (325IS) BMW mileage and counting. Mercedes of the 50's era, my 56 300c Mercedes another example a chain driven OHC engine without any of these the low mileage... -

Your measurements come off as if the the frame has been twisted (within LR production QC spec limits?) not a left vs right side sag differences. Frame straight but body sheet metal not straight or level at your measurement location points? Reading your measurements you should have handing... -

Careful quick and clean R&R shouldn't be a problem being a short duration exposure to the atmosphere. I'd go that route myself if I were you unless the compressor had some sort of mechanical failure and was spitting out small aluminum and metal particles hence plugging up down stream orifices... -

The only items requiring replacing is the ECU chip a piggyback two chips on 96 OB2 vs a single chip for 95 and older OB1 engines to properly fuel 4.0 or 4.6 engine as well installing a 4.6 airflow meter. Those original valve springs have done their job and are sacked out at that many miles with less than the minimum closed spec seat pressures. Added shims to old springs is a bad idea. That's false insurance or thinking as these Rovers eat lifters and cams. Your lifters already made a worn in profile into the cam hence new lifters only your asking to redo everything at a later date like 20K miles later. Without miking the cam lobes your just guessing or hoping for the best... -
