Ruper, I must apologize not answering your question. DIY installed Poly bushings first 18 then the rest two years later and 100% Poly. I consider them as an upgrade in handling and sharpness of steering even better than when brand new. Also replaced the rag joint rear driveshaft to diff joint...
True to a point but it depends on you being a smart buyer purchasing oil and filters on sale buying in bulk. My case 11 vehicles, 10 motorcycles I maintain in the family fleet.
Depending on how you drive, short hops to work like 5-10 miles daily vs a person that drives 80-100 miles two to three...
Oil change intervals is out the window with several short cold starts with stop and goes in town driving. Talking 80 to 90 miles a year, yes it does happen, not to start another pissing war.
I recall several months ago like six or eight plus that the cause of the cam timing chain guide's...
"Rover Specialist" you got that right trained in how to rip you off. This person must have half ownership of that stealership to come up with all that rectal dribble.
For one oils are way better these days disregarding ZDDP for the flat tappet crowd. His "they don't filter oil well" what a...
Ruper, in the LR3 & 4 world of vehicles I have an antique POS 95 D1 vs "High Tech" ownership.
Far as ride difference I did not detect a difference and if so it was very slight. I have HD springs (factory height) all around plus way stiffer anti-roll bars.
Smart move vs the "quick and expensive...
Funny as hell "unless I break it having fun". That include a roll over? Been there done that a friend showed me how hard his coil spring D2 can (didn't) corner on asphalt.
BTW I told a local LR4 owner that had trim flying off issues several times to use canned expanding spray foam from Home...
Sounds like the trailing arm at the pivot location at the frame bracket where the rubber joint is located has ripped apart. Do Not Drive it as you can possibly rip apart the driveshaft joints and or damage the transfer box. Don't forget getting into a wreck or crashing.
No way a bad or loose...
Check the trailing arm at the frame mounting bracket for torn, broken or damaged rubber at that pivot joint. Damaged or loose wheel bearing will not have that much movement mentioned.
Also check the other trailing arm bushing and that both arms are straight and not bent from off roading and...
avslash, congrats on having an open mind and vision vs most people set in their ways of only using highest tech that rolls along as the only way to go. That 7.3 being all iron for a reason, placed in hard working trucks that must be a durable powerplant. Hats off to Ford AGAIN with their engine...
Frustration alone not counting your labor then add the cost of replacing gaskets making this locking cams tool a drop in the bucket. Owning this kit should pay for itself plus a little profit if your into working on more of these 5.0 engines.
I got involved (suckered into) rescuing a "as is"...
Old thread, had to ask about the LR4 having all the faults mentioned after being towed, rather rachet strap tied down.
Rachet strapped down on a full off the road tow this placing the suspension out of the sensor's normal operating range causing alignment issue warnings to appear?
Does...
Reminds me of an extended warranty company called Western General in SoCal years ago that quit insuring DeLorean's, Ferrari's and at the top of their list money paid out in the largest dollar amount hit wasthe Land Rover claims. They lost their butts covering extended LR repairs more than they...
Next time invest in one of these under $54 tools vs the battle you had costing way more not alone in labor as there will be more 5.0 engines failing as they collect more mileage and age.
That or the shop will never work on a LR again...
Expand your ideas not limit them. I was raised on a work bench from age three, later in a machine shop.
Besides welders add a lathe and Bridgeport mill to really expand you abilities making parts not manufactured, a vision becomes a reality vs just a wet vision becoming a lost illusion. Being a...
That hurt seeing "Hoss" folded up like a pretzel to the max stuffed intpo the well welding it up. Something said about working comfortably standing upright with a lift.
Simple modification. Live dangerously cut 'em back as crossing a street your gambing with death daily......~~=o&o>.....
I was thinking you had welders in your shop or garage only requiring rolling out then welding your project. I got fed up over 40 years ago bugging friends with welders, played stepping stone upgrading until the Miller 350 Synchrowave Tig and Miller 251 Mig machine w/30A Spoolgun suited my needs...
"welding is not really an option right now of various reasons" Had to ask, what's wrong with welding? Sure beats JB gluing any part together that being a half azz patch 'em up job.
Damn, that sounded like the old York AC pump ready to kick a rod.
Something that loud and went silent on ya sounds really odd? Everything still working?
Broken crank by the speed of the pulley matching the sound? Any metallic looking like aluminum paint mixed in the oil? .....~~=o&o>......
howardduff, unless they quit manufacturing stats without having the small hole with a brass cotter key in the hole "jiggle" there would be no way to vent out and purge air pockets in the cooling system. Call it "burping" the system which can not happen with a cold or closed stat that does not...
Have you checked battery voltage before cranking as well during cranking plus checked what the current draw the starter is pulling during cranking?
A starter even if it turns over the engine to what seems normal cranking speed or most the time below can be drawing an excessive amount of...
A double roller chain timing belt with steel gears an upgrade vs the cheaper to produce linkbelt system LR used. Double roller lasting longer as well less wear stretch over the life of it also maintaining more accurate cam to crank relationship timing. While your there a new waterpump would be...
This sucks, I hate to see or read about people being taken by uneccessary replaced parts.
The only thing your "repair shops" got right was to look under the vehicle due to gravity, all else throwing parts at it until the problem was solved.
On the bright side the cross over pipe didn't fail...
