    Improved Visibility...

I wonder if his seats still fold down with those installed? I'm putting my seats down multiple times a week based on what recreation gear I'm loading in and out of it.

    Improved Visibility...

I did the same thing. All you have to do is remove the center rest. It also fits perfectly in the gap between the 2nd and 3rd row seats when they are folded down (the foot well I guess). So I always have it with me for the times I have to put someone in the middle and want to slide it back in.

    2013 Gently Murmuring at Me

It sounds like this is the little baffles in the vents that open and close to direct airflow. I think this is not an abnormal noise and you should just ignore it. These are kind of hard to get at based on earlier posts from people who have looked into them. I do recall getting in the car with...

    2011 LR4 - Parking Brake Won't Engage

My LR3 Parking Brake finally failed (or worked VERY intermittently) and I got the same feedback as you... possibly from the same guy. ;) So yeah, I didn't get it fixed before selling it. The parking brake module is kinda troublesome, over-engineered and overpriced. In my case, it started...

    Definitive roof rack thread?

Crap... Now I have wheel/tire envy! :) Looks good.

Please identify these sounds! LR4 Vibration on Gas pedal and Front End Clicking

2013. Thank you for the reminder!! What am I listening for exactly?

Please identify these sounds! LR4 Vibration on Gas pedal and Front End Clicking

It's at the shop? AND you have warranty left? Yeah... they will DEFINITELY find out what it is (and probably a few other things as well) I'm at the last 5K or so of my extended warranty. Every time I take it in... "if you happen to find anything else" and they usually do. :)

    Definitive roof rack thread?

Have a look at Front Runner racks. They have a lot of solutions and customization with their systems that I did not find elsewhere. I also liked that it was relatively easy to install/assemble myself since it is not a single welded heavy rack (which has it's advantages, I know). That said, I...

    Hitch tongue weight sanity check...

Yeah, I agree. Seems odd. It's in spec, though. Thanks. I ended up going with the hitch tray as usual without issue. But based on the feedback here I was a little less nervous this time even though just about all the luggage we cared about (other than laptops) was on the hitch tray. For what...

Please identify these sounds! LR4 Vibration on Gas pedal and Front End Clicking

That second video is interesting. You'd think that would be relatively easy to find if you just crawled under there and started grabbing and rattling things. That sounds like something loose, thin piece of metal, at 38 seconds it just sounds like something hanging and clanging. Good luck. Let...

    Land Rover mechanic in OBX?

Well, I ended up getting it 60 miles up the road to my family's place, but didn't want to risk driving it another 85 miles up to the dealership so I had it towed up there. Dealership called me by 8:20AM the following morning to confirm that it was the water pump, they had already gotten...

    Land Rover mechanic in OBX?

Thanks guys. I’m on vacaction with no tools and even my tools at home would likely limit me for anything that didn’t go to plan. It doesn’t seem there is anyone to trust down here to work on LRs from asking around a bit. I have an appointment at the VA Beach dealership tomorrow which will...

    Land Rover mechanic in OBX?

Does anyone have a mechanic you would trust in the Outer Banks, NC for Land Rover service? I have a likely water pump issue, needing it to be replaced or at least get up and look at the hoses. I know there is a dealer up in Virginia Beach. That’s a good way from me and when I called them a...

    Best windshield replacement option?

FYI - I had the Fuyao as a replacement and the rain sensing headlights were erratic. Didn’t work. It’s a known issue. CarMax had put that in so I went back and requested the actual OEM, which is the Pilkington and everything works fine again. It’s something about the tint of the glass, I...

    Hitch tongue weight sanity check...

Thanks, guys. Okay, experience hauling a dirt bike hanging off there is a good test case. I won’t worry about it.

    Hitch tongue weight sanity check...

Headed out for vacation tomorrow and this year we're hitting the roads with an extra dog, which means less luggage in the car and more on the hitch tray. I'm always nervous loading up the hitch tray... especially the way the LR hitch just kind of hangs off the body with that pin mechanism. So...

Very intermittent problem - Smart Key Not Found

This is just a guess, but it would make sense for the car to be the one that is actively checking for the key. The key fob battery is just too small to last as long as it does if it was transmitting all the time. I really think the battery is only for transmitting out an RF signal when you hit...

Very intermittent problem - Smart Key Not Found

Few things, as I will sometimes get this error. First, to start your car, do you even need a battery in the remote? Maybe that's why the steering column fix works. Your key fob is not always transmitting a signal. It only does this when you push a button. So, change your batteries, but they...

Turn off alarm on backup sensors? Bike rack on.

Good question. I usually keep my trailer hitch on... just the hitch, makes the sensor beep every time I put it in reverse, then it calms down. Still, I hear it every day so I begin to disregard it. One day I hit one of those low concrete posts backing up in a gas station. It was beeping, I...

    Rear Climate Control

Yup. It's always on Auto. Big interior space, I figure any way to share the load is good, and then I'm also regularly exercising both systems.

With my last fill up I am getting fuel fumes in the cabin...

That is a great deal! I'd say it's well worth the $100 to not have to mess with the tank yourself. Specially since you already know what needed to be replaced.

With my last fill up I am getting fuel fumes in the cabin...

From my experience (and you probably found my other posts in your search) it could be a lot of different things. I'd rule out the items that @avslash mentioned above before you drop the tank. The tank may be easy to drop if you do it regularly, but I took it to two different reputable...

How are roof rail nuts/thread secured?

That's a great idea. I wish I would have done that when installing my rack!

Rooftop Step via door latch stocking stuffer...

I used it once to test it out. I also noticed on some other ads for this device, some of them had a rubber bumper on the end that rests against the car. I would be happy using this on the LR4 if (1) it wasn't pressing against that plastic piece and (2) I had the rubber bumper/shield thing. As...

    the LR4 19inch tire dilemma

FYI I ordered and installed the Nokians. I haven't had them in any weather yet, but they run great. Smooth ride, no noise, looking forward to some snow!
