I agree with Grommet.
Traction control? Check
Lockers? Check
Ground clearance? Check
Approach / Departure angle? Check
Tires are the only hangup, and the stock H3 tires aren't world beaters. Maybe the Rubicon's, but Jeep is intent on lengtening the wheelbase and it was never really...
You were never in my doghouse
Look at your checklist for an "offroad vehicle," and tell me what vehicle is more capable than a LR right off the factory floor? The only vehicle even close on that list is the Hummer H1, and it's far from able to do narrow trails.
I look forward to...
So I'm driving my truck tonight, when suddenly the oil pressure idiot light comes on and begins to flicker. "Oh crap," I think.....
Right up to the point that I realize it's flickering to the beat of "Take the Money...
You're very welcome. I can sympathize with someone who's trying to "do it on a budget" -- I am convinced that by the time the steel rusts out from under and around me all the internal parts but the engine block will be aftermarket or US parts adapted to fit!
I just looked through their online catalog, and didn't have any luck, but maybe try calling Rovers North. They have, in my experience, very kind and helpful people who know their Rovers. Not affiliated, just someone who's had good experience.
I've found that this forum is among the more active when it comes to LR3's. Defenders / Rangies / Freelanders, not so much, but for LR3's this is the place to be.
There is a plastic T-connector for that vacuum line. The other lines run toward the front driver's side (NAS) headlight area, and back to the firewall. Mine usually falls somewhere near the master cylinder...
Make sure the housing isn't loose. On mine, the bulbs have to be re-adjusted in the housing every so often, or the brake lights will fail. Do you have a functional third brake light (the one in the door)? That will help people help immensely.
All apparent sarcasm aside, you seem to be putting yourself in a pretty high position given your admitted lack of knowledge of the manual or other basic material that may have addressed your concerns.
Are you serious? You've spent that much bandwidth pointing out a couple minor errors in an...
You can probably do better, especially since the problems are electrical and others are a PITA to fix (headliner).
What are you going to use it for? If it's going to be a "work" truck and you're going to beat the shit out of it, it might be worth purchasing and improving...
I agree with askewed, insofar as I too have had horrible experiences with the customer service at my local LR Centre.
However, Cat makes a good point -- a number of his gripes were things that were advertised, or at least could have been checked before purchase.
Let's keep in mind that...
My guess is that the RRS will be included with other Range Rovers (Classic, P38A, and "new"), since it is, after all, a Range Rover. Sam (site admin) may change that, though...
Welcome to the board, and the insanity....
Andy
Cruise control -- check the vacuum lines in the engine bay, if they have cracks in them the cruise won't work. Another thing to check is the switch located on the brake pedal.
Sunroof -- is it not working at all or just not closing correctly?
Fogs -- could be a number of things, including...
Headers give you top-end power (pretty much the opposite of what you're looking for when driving in the sand), and Joey did put some on his Disco. I'll see if I can find the cross-reference for the radiator, I know there's a US part # that'd be cheaper than the Genuine LR part. But try...
