    LR3 Owner's Thoughts so Far...

Pics? :hmpf: Can you take some that: show the rear axle flexed? show the front suspension compressed? show the front suspension extended? show you standing on the rear tailgate? show it wheeling? I'm still a pessimist about this -- but as I've stated before, the longer I own my Rover the...

I Want To Change My Steering Wheel

ummmm, not sure, but you want to take a hard look at removing that airbag...and buying a new wheel with the airbag installed is not going to be cheap.

    Windshield Wipers

I'd suspect the switch before the motor, because it's working fine at the other speeds.

    Ski Rack

Get Thule/Yakima high-foot towers, and put the cross bars on -- then your rack will be above the line from the rear half of the roof. This is the best-looking solution, won't interfere with rear door operation, and you can find crossbars/gutter mounts for ~$100 on EBay.

    Fender Trimming Question

Cut it with a sawzall or dremel or angle grinder w/ cutting wheel, and then use a dremel with grinding attachment or metal file to smooth the edges. Folding it under it won't be an option if you cut like most people do. I suppose an alternative would be to use a small metalworking hammer and...

    Fender Trimming Question

What size tires? What do you mean by "did you put in flares"? Flares basically allow you to mount tires that stick out beyond the edge of the fender -- they're not going to cure any rubbing you have. If it's me, I cut. Hell, I'm going to cut my rear fenders on my truck, and I don't even...

    Lighter Electrical Port

Supposedly there are adapters, but my suggestion is the same as RD98: Wrap a layer or two of electrical tape around the plug and it'll fit. The best thing to do is probably to get a 12v lighter outlet strip and then you can use the modified plug (with tape) more or less permanently with...

    Oil Cost Too Much!!!

All right, well at least it's not some "only dealer can remove or warranty voided" type of thing  I don't own a Freelander, but I feel confident my D1 wouldn't gain any aerodynamic advantage from an undertray!

    Oil Cost Too Much!!!

 ARE YOU KIDDING ME? There's a plastic panel that KEEPS you from changing the oil? Is that panel crucial for operation of the vehicle or just another version of the manufacturer ensuring that you go to them for service? I had a friend with a Cadillac Catera, and the car had a keyed oil...

    Newb suspension questions...

    (1) You own a truck, and it's never going to be "soft" or handle like a car; (2) That said, there are shocks and springs with softer specs than the stock springs and woodheads. I am not looking for those particular ride characteristics, but maybe someone else can help ya...

    Door differences?

OK, the plot thickens....I look in my Genuine Body Panel Repair Guide (shop manual has nothing about the body parts). It's listed "From 1995 Model Year." This makes me wonder if the 94 doors were different....anyone?

    Door differences?

I'm at work, so workshop manual nowhere near me, but I have a nuts-and-bolts question. I'm hoping to replace the front passenger door on my 96 with a door from a 1994 model. What, if any, difference is there between the doors? Will the electrical connectors, etc. connect without problems? If...

    LR3 Off The Road

Profile says Woodland. So how was the articulation of the front end of that LR3, Mike? I'm interested if the IFS was as capable of being twisted as the solid fronts of our beloved LR1's and LR2's (I mean, D1 and D2 )

    Rearview mirror and MagnaDonnelly

Yeah -- this isn't DWeb or Pirate 4x4 where you'll get flamed for asking a question that's been asked before. Usually someone will, at the worst, provide a link to another thread discussing the same question. Andy
