Snow and ice = lo or hi range???

Quoted from a thread on Land Rovers Only about Snow driving: "High range 1st or 2nd or low range. This will depend on the situation." I think that post is fairly valid, from the recent snow driving I did in 20"+, High range and Grass/Gravel/Snow did AMAZING...even on stock GoodForOneYears

Anyone Interested In Group Buy: Sump Guard For the Discovery 3

Wait so It would look like the Rasta 4x4 sump guard? I prefer the Mantec look to the Rasta any day, + there is added protection.

How to wire LR3 Roof Rack lights?

Land Crzy, did you run the wire harness from the rack down through the A pillar or go a different route?

How to wire LR3 Roof Rack lights?

I'm also curious to how to wire it, If there is not much room in A pillar, guess you gotta go back hmmmm

What do you like/Disklike about your Roofrack??

I've got a Rover Racks Rack and love it, I have a shovel, axe and high lift mount as well as 4 light tabs up front and one in the rear, those things plus the fact that the steel tubing is bullet proof... Only dislike is the wind noise, was gonna put a wind faring up there, put I decided I'm...

I am quite curious as well, being a fellow MD resident

    Special program fault

Weird, I got that the other day in the snow when I was trying to get up a hill and lucky for me I lost grass/gravel/snow , but I just restarted it and special programs were back. Good luck

    terrain response

Technically you don't even need to stop in order to put it in low range, just neutral and not be going above the speed indicated in your manual (actual number is escaping me at the moment) But Yeah you can definitely change on the fly

    least reliable top gear

Yeah thats weird, it didn't do it for me yesterday, but when i went back to look at it today there was that damned survey

    least reliable top gear

I absolutely agree, I am a huge fan of Top Gear and that was definitely one of if not the best episodes I've seen. (Maybe It was because the Range Rover kicked :bootyshak) BTW I'm actually surprised Richard didn't get the Rover, or another rover, like a Defender or Series, he is a well...

    Two Quick Questions

Did you ever get a puncture with the Toyos or did you just change for the peace of mind? Oh... and can anyone confirm that the thing that Trynian and I were discussing earlier is in fact the master cylinder? (Thing with a bunch of metal tubes going back towards the Brake Fluid Reservoir...

Anyone Interested In Group Buy: Sump Guard For the Discovery 3

Looks like It may go to either techboy or me, since we (the mid-atlantic) area have the most orders... Anyone know what it costs to ship a 6kg package cross country? P.S. I don't want to pass on a great deal, but if it gets to be more expensive than the Mantec from Rovers North, I'm out...

    Two Quick Questions

:dito: I respect both Houm and Jwest's opinions... no need to get into a heated battle over it. Houm has a similar setup that I wish to pursue, as in separate set of rims for trail and street. So any input from him is cool with me. And Jwest, we all know that your rig can handle anything...

Anyone Interested In Group Buy: Sump Guard For the Discovery 3

I think he's referring to the Rasta 4x4 internal winch mount on the rig, not the actual plate. You can go ahead and use the sump guard from the group buy and then still have the winch to go inside the bumper  Oh and I may be interested as long as shipping doesn't kill it for me and...

    Two Quick Questions

Thought so, if they were running STTs, i would have dropped them from my list completely. Out of curiosity, what kind of mud are talking about? Slimy stuff? Peanut butter consistency? Watery?

    Two Quick Questions

Interesting, I've read a lot into the BFGs and the fact that they turned into slicks kept coming up... Also heard that the MTRs were more of a rock tire than a mud tire, but are more geared to be good in mud because of the tread design that would allow them to clear the tread if they got slicked...

    Two Quick Questions

Sadly I don't have all those goodies (yet ), and I travel just with the bare essentials on the trail (i.e. straps, shackles, small collapsable shovel and first aid kit) and my rack. I don't think I'd ever make it up to the 8000lb. range your talking about. I also think of all the tires we...

    Two Quick Questions

The only reason I asked is because there is a certain aggresive tire that I have been looking at that is a "C" load range and I know the guys at RoverTym run it on their LR3 and wheel the hell out of it (i.e. weight goes from side to side or even on one tire) and think (don't quote me here) they...
