I've been very happy with my Hella 4000k Cornering lamps. The light throw is perfect for night time trail use. 1M, 2M or 10M candle power is irrelevant if it doesn't light up the area you need?? Unless you're a desert racer, I don't see the sense in Euro or Pencils. The cornering is very wide...
Don't trip. There are what they are - harmonic dampeners. They are designed to offset common resonant or droning conditions from road noise, vibrations, oscillations and crying children. Personally, I don't get it but some propeller head engineer says it works. I'm just scared my rig would self...
Hey Paul - Looks like the new hinge worked out great! How about some still pics of the set up. The club music and cell phone vid gave me vertigo. Be sure to post up on LRR as well! Do you have any finish pics yet (powder coated and complete)?
Take a look at the bolts on the hinge which allows the seat to rotate forward. This is where my squeak was found. I tightened these and things actually became worse. A quick spray of silicone and the loosening (not too much) of this bolt eliminated the noise. Be sure to use the correct Torx bit...
Don't jump to conclusions. Check it out fully. It's also possible that the intermediate steering shaft needs replacement. If you feel the "clunk" in the steering wheel, it's most likely this.
You can modify ride height settings with programming software. Knowledgeable Independents can perform this IF they have the system. What you can't do is - a. over-ride the 30mph kick down for Access or OffRoad modes. b. program individual settings which are dissimilar in height relationship -...
Measure your stock rods from center to center of the "eyes". I would shorten 8mm from there. You'll gain approx 1-1/2". Be sure to have the vehicle OFF when taking the rods off. The rig will drop if you don't. Fronts are easy. Change the rears from underneath if you don't feel like taking off...
The 33" tires that were used on his rig is the Nitto Mud Grappler's. They are 33" x 12.50" x 18". I believe the 12.50" translates closely to a 305 tire width. That's the main reason he had to address the offset so tire rub doesn't happen. The 275/70/18 is narrower and should fit??? Clearance...
I'm happy to hear that the amount of shop time hasn't tarnished your LR experience. My rig was in the shop ALL the time until the bugs were worked out. All under warranty, always received an LR3 loaner and they washed my ride every time. The customer service was incredible. They were simply...
Really?? A CX-9?? jk! Personally, I think the LR4 is a grown up version of my LR3. It went from utilitarian to quite refined. Very nice. Since you don't "need" to upgrade right now, I would wait a year or so and pick one up as a CPO or Lease return with low miles and plenty of warranty life. Let...
Ewwwww. Don't even consider the factory locker (HD) as an option. It requires a complete, new main harness. Essentially a body off retrofit. It would exceed 10k in short time. There are zero aftermarket options available. I could imagine a war between a mechanical locker and multiple ECU's...
The compressor will not run any longer than normal. Once it achieves the required air pressure, it shuts off. New psi will be in the 170 range - compared to the 150 stock range. Burst pressure is 760 psi, so we are well within safe operating pressures.
Let me also add that by doing a rod mod, you will be adding additional air volume to the suspension in order to gain lift. This pressure will translate to a slightly firmer ride. When I ran my Nitto's at 60psi on the highways, it was a bit of a jackhammer ride. It felt a touch nervous. I'm sure...
Yeah. The 275/65/18's. You'll need a lift to run that size. I make my own kit - Sasquatch Rods. Check out Johnson Rods and see which one suits your needs. Greg and I both sell direct.
These are by far the best Snow Tire that I have ever used. BFG MT's, BFG AT's, Nitto Terra Grapplers - all...
50% personal preference, 50% ratings swayed me to the DuraTrac. The MTR Kevlar just looks weird to me. I reeks of marketing IMO. Is it a MT or an AT - just looks confused to me. GoodYear's website also provided me with THEIR rankings between the two.

Looks great! Glad to see that it's a locking toggle clamp. I've had that clamp manufacturers page bookmarked for a year now - just in case I ever get around to making my own. Mandatory question - how much?
I've been thinking about this since I had my sidewall blow-out on the trail this summer. I literally had to use some WD and my prybar to get the spare out. It's just too tight in there with the deep DuraTrac tread - even at 2psi. I finally got around to some strategic notching to allow more...
