    Replacing Center Muffler with generic

Just replaced the Rotoflex Coupler now I notice that a hole and corrosion at the front connection point of the center muffler (not the one at the tail pipe). It's starting to make noise. Right now I don't want to spend hundreds to replace this. Can I buy a generic muffler from autozone or...

    rotoflex coupler

You have a good point there. When the screw is removed will the drum just come off if the prop shaft has been removed? Thanks,

    rotoflex coupler

Got the nuts off the studs using a vice grip to keep the stud from spinning. Center Nut on drum won't budge. It's not a left handed nit is it? Studs for prop shaft are spinning in place so I know if I try to re-install the prop shaft I won't be able to tighten the nuts. I have to get that...

    rotoflex coupler

2nd time this got lost but I was asking Joey if he know how to take off the parking brake drum so that I could get at the four bolts that hold the u-joint end of the rear prop shaft. The bolts are spinning around in place and I cant get the nuts off them to put the prop shaft back on. Seems...

    Deah Wobble

CV Joints and/or the steering damper. I put a cheap damper on a couple of years ago and had the death wobble after about 4 months. Put a Bilstein damper on and death wobble was gone.

    Drive Shaft Vibration

Driving with Rear Drive shaft Removed If I remove the rear drive shaft to replace the flex coupling can the truck be driven with only the front drive shaft or will this destroy the drivetrain or something? I'm thinking about this because if it were possible, would fuel economy improve...

    Drive Shaft Vibration

Found it on Discoweb After I lifted my 1996 Discovery about 2" with OME suspension, my rotoflex couplers started failing. I replaced the rotoflex driveshaft with a stock rear driveshaft and stock 4-bolt pinion flange from a 1998 Discovery. To convert from rotoflex to u-joint, you not only...

    Drive Shaft Vibration

Hi Joey: Thanks. I checked with Nathan and he DOES have it for about $16 less. How would I upgrade to a U-joint? Thanks for your help,

    Drive Shaft Vibration

97 Disco I 120000 miles Truck has run great since I replaced the fuel pump last year. Kind of expected something new to pop up and it now has. Noticing vibration under load. Stops when I put it in nuetral while driving along. U-joints and front axle look fine. Flex joint on rear...

    Replacing Cats

One week after replacing the fuel pump and she is still running like a top. No starting problems, chugging, hesitation or misses. 1997 DISCO SE7 104K MILES

    Replacing Cats

Joey: It was the fuel pump!! I am stunned by the difference. It runs like when I first got it. I always thought that if the fuel pump was bad it would just die and that would be the end of it. With the DISCO it lived on for months causing hard start problems, hot start impossibility...

    Replacing Cats

Thanks Joey: I'll go buy the guage. What are the possibilities here? Injectors? Fuel Pressure Regulator? Fuel Pump? Probably any and all. Thanks again,

Joey, how do you check the pressure? Thanks,

    Replacing Cats

CATS NOT BAD! Now What?? 1997 Disco 104k miles Runs rough, will miss and sputter after it warms up. Problems going through the 20-30 mph range. After that runs ok. If you shut it off after it warms up it is very VERY hard to re-start. have to wait 15-20 minutes. Then it will run...

    Replacing Cats

Midas will test for free and replace each side with a universal CAT for $200-$250 each side. Since I don't have to order CATs and pay shipping I did not think this was too bad a price? Thoughts?

    Replacing Cats

Well, after changing all of the temp sensors, fuel filter, plugs, wires etc. and with the hesitation and hard starting (after the engine warms up) getting worse, it seems that either one or both of the CATs are bad. I read up on the symptoms and my 97 SE7 with 104k miles is a poster child for...

    wants to die when hot

No, this is the engine coolant sensor. The Fuel temp sensor is back a little bit further closer to the intake. I already changed the fuel temp sensor. That part was about $89 I believe. After changing the fuel temp sensor I still had the problems.

Sensor Temp ECTS Item: ETC8496 $19.95 at Atlantic British. I am checking with Nathan to make sure this is the part. It appears to be it.

    wants to die when hot

Just for the heck of it I pulled off the connection on the Engine Coolant sensor to see if there was a difference in the behavior of the engine after drivinging for about an hour doing local stuff. It ran smoothj and strong with no hesitation, no sputtering and no chugging. When I plugged...
