I ran Toyo Open Countrys 285/60-18's without rod mod for a couple of years and had no issues and was able to use the full range of heights. -

Truck autolevels itself. Normal function. Sounds like you are going in the right direction with the changing of the battery. This should take care of the fault issues at start up. -
