    Front Grill Touch Up Paint?

David, you might try some Testor's Model Paint. Have a look at the Testor's website here. I think "Aluminum" or "Aluminum Plate" might be a pretty good match.

Swagman XTC4 Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Review

Hello all, Recently I bought a hitch mount bike rack for my LR4. I looked at lots of different configurations and models. My criteria: 1. I didn't want to put bikes up on the roof. That is a recipe for scratched paint or broken glass. I'm too short and the LR4 is too tall, even at access...

    Failed to start @!@

As part of the diagnosis of a recent electrical issue the head tech at my dealer told me that there have been instances of smart phones interfering with communication between the smartkey and the truck when both are carried in the same pocket or similarly close proximity in a purse. Maybe this...

Do all LR dealerships provide a loaner vehicle when doing warranty repairs?

That's interesting, Mott. I've had my 2001 LR4 in for service 3 times. The first time was to replace cracked roof glass that was broken when the dealer installed the roof rails. The second time was to chase down an issue with random stalling. The third time was for the same issue (!). In each...

Another Proud Moment for this LR4 Owner!!

I guess it's all point of view. Look at the marques you're comparing it to. To you, the LR4 is a modest luxury car. To me it's a really blingy Jeep.

Another Proud Moment for this LR4 Owner!!

I'm saying that the LR4, while not as ostentatious as the RR, has plenty of bling.

    Foreigh language display

Been using the English accent from day one. I was calling her Miss Moneypenny. Then one of my buddies reminded me that Miss Moneypenny has an American accent. :hmpf:

I'm reminded of an old saying about glass houses and throwing stones.

Service light on, then off , in a couple of seconds . . .

Okay, it's a week later and I have my car back. In the interim, I received a call asking my permission for the head tech to do a more extensive test drive (i.e. drive the car to and from work.) Ultimately he was able to duplicate the issue, which was a good thing. The powers that be at Land...

Do all LR dealerships provide a loaner vehicle when doing warranty repairs?

So far this year, I've had 5 1/2 weeks of free loaner. :hmpf: Very grateful for the loaner, but not so happy that I needed one. I have to say regarding loaner cars that I have been rather embarrassed by my fellow local Land Rover owners. On multiple occasions I have witnessed people...

Range 19" OEM rims fit LR4?

Hey Rob, I don't get it. Aren't all the gears in the diff spinning all the time anyway? Driving with one smaller wheel would just make one side spin marginally slower than the other. No? For anyone interested, this is the best explanation of the differential that I've ever seen. You have to...

    Irene

I'm glad your power is back on. Everything else okay? And inquiring minds want to know if you were able to put your LR through its paces. FWIW, I live in earthquake country. I have enough fuel on hand to fill two cars and power a little putt-putt generator that puts out just enough...

Service light on, then off , in a couple of seconds . . .

Another update for those following the saga: I took the car in again for the stalling issue on 8/25. Today, 8/31, I got a call from the service department. The problem remains undiagnosed, and the head tech is waiting for advice from some higher off-site Land Rover technical authority...

Full Length Roof Rails Bright Finish

Maybe I can help out. Here's a pic of mine. They have a brushed finish.

Service light on, then off , in a couple of seconds . . .

Thanks Rob, The first time I took it in for this problem they had my car for most of a month. For much of that time the car languished in the service dept. lot waiting for a new computer. I guess the service mgr. felt it might represent a liability for LR to release a car to us that stalls...

Service light on, then off , in a couple of seconds . . .

Well, that didn't take long. For the first couple of days the LR4 ran great. But now it's stalling again. Sometimes while on the freeway, sometimes at idle. 5 times just today. Back to the ol' drawing board.:hmpf:

LR4 Brake Problems and LR support

Theofam, p-dawger has a history of speaking in absolutes in a rude and condescending way. Feel free to ignore him. Here's another thread with some opinions on the brake issue. http://forums.landroverworld.org/showthread.php?t=21542

Service light on, then off , in a couple of seconds . . .

Hello all, Well, we got a call from the service department yesterday telling us the replacement Powertrain Control Module had arrived and was being installed in our car. This morning one of the service managers dropped our car off at the house and took away the loaner. That's pretty great...

    iPad Stylus Pen = Awesome!

Agreed, it's only a minor annoyance. But it's a continual minor annoyance. And it's needless. An artifact of a world beset by lawyers and bean counters. It's the principle of the thing.

    iPad Stylus Pen = Awesome!

I had one in the car for a while, but it kept disappearing into the wife's purse and ultimately I gave up. This thread has me working on a plan B though. What about a lightweight stylus that is attached to a retractable i.d. badge lanyard, which is then zip tied to the back of the rear view...

There are lots of options for styli out there. http://www.stylusmart.com/ My personal favorite is the Fisher Space Pen with the stylus on the body.

    Tire pressure

For tires with short sidewalls like those on our LR4's it is especially important to keep the tires aired up. Low air pressure combined with a nasty pothole could result in a damaged rim.

I'm not sure what your issue might be, Count. In my case, each of these warning light incidents is accompanied by the stalling of the engine.
