To buy or not too buy?

We now have 118,800 miles on our '06 LR3. The only mechanical issues were the lift gate mechanism, thermostat, and lower control arm bushings. Not bad IMHO for 80,000 miles of ownership. 2 of those 3 items I took care of myself. She's still running strong. So. I'd say there is still plenty of...

19" Tire Option Discussion - Again!

I put the 255/55/19 Zeons on our Range Rover. (had them installed about a month ago) Love them.... Just a little bit louder at highway speeds than the outgoing Michelin Latitudes. Tons more confidence off road. It hasn't rained here in Denver since I got them, maybe today, who knows. So, I can't...

    Hood fluttering at high speeds

SLAM IT! I'm not kidding. -Also hit the latches with a little lubricant then wipe off the excess.

Chrome color grille? Naah. Gray works better!

Here's a place I've used that supplies genuine Land Rover colors. http://www.repaintsupply.com/cat_land.cfm

    Hood fluttering at high speeds

I've gotten into the habit of slamming the hood down and pulling up to see if there is any play. Had the whole juttery hood incident happen to me before. No more...

    12V portable air compressor

Awesome, thanks for the input. The Vlair compressors were what I was looking at and that 450P will fill the bill nicely.

    12V portable air compressor

I'm scouring the web reading reviews. What do you guys recommend? It'll be used for the usual, airing up tires after a trail ride, and getting the spare inflated.

Time for New 19" tires - would you recommend Zeon LTZ's or Pirelli ATR's

I'd go for the Zeon's. I don't have any experience with the other tires you mentioned. I recently put Zeon's on out Range and the ride and lack of road noise hasn't been compromised.

I got this 2012 baby 2 weeks ago, so far very happy with it.

    Nice Metropolis! Congrats

The obligatory "Show off your LR3' thread

We did see a ton of nice rigs but, negative on a Bronco convoy. We didn't make it up to Nederland until 1:30 in the afternoon, or so. But, I sure would have liked to see that!

The obligatory "Show off your LR3' thread

Rocks are always going to win vs. paint or powder coat. Maintenance is easier. Powder coat is a lot more durable against the elements and brake dust. Especially the gunk they splatter on the roads up here in Denver, over the winter. And yes, the lugs can be powder coated. I was just going to...

The obligatory "Show off your LR3' thread

Thanks. The wheels were used. I found them online. I had the wheels sand blasted and powder coated by a fab shop here in Denver. The color is Tungsten Metallic Grey. I'll snap a better pic of it with my digital cam and get it on here. (added pic)

The obligatory "Show off your LR3' thread

Fresh pics from today's outing with the family. We headed out to Nederland, via Boulder Canyon Rd. No trail running today, just sight seeing. I had the wheel and tire project for the 3 wrapped up a couple weeks ago. the wheels were powder coated by Roadrunner Fabrication here in N. Denver. The...

255/55/19 Cooper Zeons are a GO!

I'll echo ablood's sentiments about the tire word for word. Tires, to me were suprisingly quiet. I installed them on our Range Rover. Great highway manners.

The annual 19 inch tire question! Whattya got? Whattya like?

Just had 285/60/18 Zeon LTZ's installed on the 3. I bought a set of ten spokes and had them blasted and powder coated, gunmetal metallic grey. Loving every mile, so far. I'll get pics up this weekend.

255/55/19 Cooper Zeons are a GO!

I just placed an order for a set of 4 with the warranty certificate, from my local Discount Tire here in Westminster Colorado. Price I was quoted, mounted balanced and installed with certificates is $1,348. Tires will be here middle of next week, coming from California.

    Searching for a roof rack

Yeah man, My office (ATS Rocky MTN) is located on Akron just down the road from IKEA on County Line. I actually live in Westminster. It's a helluva commute. Half of the time I'm on-site, the other half I'm at my desk. So it's not that bad. We should get some guys together and hit some trails...

    Searching for a roof rack

Oh hell yes. The Rhino Rack is one of those "assemble-it-yourself" kinda deals. Which means powder coating will be a breeze.

    Searching for a roof rack

I'm really leaning toward a Rhino Racks unit. They are right down the road from my office, here in Centennial, Co. I'll try to break it down and powder coat it a matte black. If the plastics aren't easily removable I'll just make it off and paint the exterior rails. I think it'll look good in...

Replacing the Rear Differential Control Module

Sounds pretty straight forward to me. The module is located @ the 12 o'clock position. So, be sure the area is clean and be careful not to drop anything (dirt / debris). These diffs are really finicky. The good part is you wont lose any fluid.

    Moved to Orlando.

We just moved from Orlando to Denver. My wife is 5th generation Floridian, a.k.a Cracker. Some of the best places to hit the trails is the Ocala National Forest. Just head north on the turnpike. It's about an hour outside Orlando. Also, if you have any other questions about Central Florida...
