    06 LR3 choice: Base V6 vs SE V8

V8....I don't see how a V6 gas engine in a nearly 6k vehicle can get better MPG. The V8 doesn't need to work as hard. Although if fuel economy is a concern, a Land Rover ain't your ride. Haha.

Is the tow receiver optional/did my LR3 have one at some point?

Yours probably has the wiring, there's a cover over it on the rear bumper, just use a coin to undo the clips. I can get pics later if you want. I've never seen a US LR3 without the wiring. As for the hitch, I have no idea. Mine had it already fitted on the back and their is no sign of any...

The Best LR3 All Season/Terrain Tire Thread of 2013

I love Nitto Terra Grapplers...got them on my Jeep and LR3. Great in snow/ice. Quiet, ride nice....not the longest lasting I bet nor the least expensive, but perform awesome. Would buy again.

Tips from My "DIY Oil Change"

Yes oil changes are (though it's a set number...look it up by vin at the dealer to see how many are left). Brake pads, at least for me, weren't covered.

Tips from My "DIY Oil Change"

I don't buy a new drain plug every time...I've always reused it. Doesn't leak yet at least.

Why not many LR3 in the marked

I got mine because when I lived in Florida I couldn't find a 4WD Commander. And I just had to get rid of the Durango that weekend for some reason. :D

Looking to buy 2005 LR3 SE with 139k miles.

It's probably already had a lot of work done...70-100k is when most need the most work done IMO.

    LR3 not accelerating properly....

Maybe go try another LR3 and see if it feels the same.

    LR3 not accelerating properly....

Mine does it a bit, but I don't think it hampers it at all. A bit annoying at first after driving my Jeep (real throttle), but I get used to it quickly.

    Urgent...burst coolant line

Well I put in a brass splice and some hose clamps in. Let it run the driveway for about 40 mins or so, took 1/2 hour to get up to temp, heat still didn't work. After 40 mins, it seemed to overheat and shut down, but yet the needle was still at halfway. I'm thinking something is plugged up and...

    Urgent...burst coolant line

Thanks for the reply...that's interesting. I was thinking about doing that to get by for a day till it goes into the shop Tuesday for another repair.

    Urgent...burst coolant line

So today driving the LR3 I noticed the fan seemed to louder than normal and coming on more often. Temp was normal. Brought it home, took it out again and pulling into the garage, it started smoking and I shut it down (temp needle was up more than normal), waited a few mins (fire extinguisher...

    The most uncomfortable SUV ever?

I'd look into bushings. I might sound stupid, but are the air springs/shocks one assembly or can one just do shocks? Mine rides firm but the same as it always has. The Terra Grapplers seemed to smooth it out a bit.

    Warranty question

I think it might be a good idea to get one....age is just as much as a factor as mileage. Sitting around isn't the easiest.
