I think the Hi country gas tank skid goes over the existing skid which leads me to
believe you would lose some clearance. RS is supposed to be coming out with one
but seems to be stuck in limbo for some reason. I'm ready to make this purchase
yesterday but it seems like everyone is scrambling...
I like mine, just make sure you get touch up paint from the company who did the
job for you. I went just flat black, no gloss. Easier to touch up after scratching them up.
Yes, I sold it some time ago. Originally the basket was around $300, then I added
an extention to make the basket bigger $75. Spare tire mount was around $70.
Check thier website for current pricing though. This was acouple of years ago.
Here is an old pic of my truck when I had the Yakima load warrior. It uses 8 threaded
fasteners that are made to take on and off by hand. Later I got the spare tire mount
and it did pretty well. Was just too high for my garage.
Most of my rubbing occured on a trail called Doran Loop where it is very steep and rocky.
There were several occasions where my wheels were fully compressed and turned hard
to the left. So I guess it depends on what kind of trails you are running. If I were you
I wouldn't completely disregard...
I run Toyo's, but same size as the Cooper. Have not had any faults as result from
rubbing. They were getting pretty chewed up so I had to find a solution. Definately
something to keep an eye on if you run a plus sized tire.
I had significant rubbing on my wires down there and did not have the slack to relocate
the wires. So I did the next best thing and mounted a small plate over them.
I agree with drz, if you fill your cabin with poisonous fumes who knows what that will
do to your electronics, and your seats ect. Really, ask a pest control company and
at least find out what you options are.
