$100 Deductible on Extended Service Contract
It is pretty standard on these contracts, however they should have pointed it out. I had one for my prior 'Rover and the service guys suggested that I could wait for multiple items before bringing it in - the deductible applied per visit, not per service item.... -

Link fixed for ya - I'm thinking of this myself, but more to run accessories when the vehicle is off. The only downside that I can see is that I'd lose the ability to have a nice small compressor for airing up again - given the very limited beach use it's probably a worthwhile trade off... -

I suppose if you are really concerned you could look at a dual battery setup. For what it's worth our battery is on the "weaker" side now (intermittent HDC failures when running the system test on start up), though it's more obvious in colder temperatures. We did leave it outside in the snow... -

Center console
Is it the actual switch that feels loose, or the entire console near the switch? If it's the switch, I'm not sure - I've never taken it off of the console. If it's the rear of the console, you probably broke or missed/dropped a clip when you put it back on - they're probably cheap and easily... -

Sure .... 1) Remove rubber tray under ash-tray/cigarrette lighter. 2) Remove single screw under EBP (parking brake) switch. 3) Remove top of gear shift (pull straight up) 4) Pull console straight up - there are a half dozen or so clips holding it in place. Have fun! -

I'd second umbertob - you may have enough of a drop when cranking that something gets messed up when doing the system check (would have thought the cranking would interrupt the check, but who knows!). I have noticed that with low power conditions, I'd often get an HDC failure when cranking... -

Front Control Arm Catastrophic Failure
I read through the thread on the other board, and my interpretation was that he believed it was the stress due to the uncontrolled weaving - the LR3 is a heavy beast! I'm not sure I'd agree - would love to have seen a proper investigation into it... -

'Certified' is changing from 2y/75k to 1y/12k
I didn't actually know CPOs in the US carried that warranty; in Canada CPO has been 1 yr, 20k kms (roughly 12k miles) for the last few years.... Given that CPO vehicles in Canada always seemed to be $5k-$10k more expensive, I could never understand why anyone would bother - 2yr/75k would be... -

How about this - buy non-certified, then buy a good exclusive extended warranty. I'm assuming that CPO in the US is similar to Canada, which gives you an extra year and ~12k miles of warranty. Given that exclusive extended warranties seem to run most people $3k-$4k and provide significantly... -

HDC Fault, NAV Memory and Battery Lifespan
I've got 2.5 years (40k miles) on mine and anytime the temperature is below freezing and the truck is left outside I get the HDC fault. It generally goes away on the next restart once the truck is warmed up, and I noted that HDC does become active after a few minutes of driving. I'm not too... -

Does it not lock with the vehicle? I haven't tried, but I assumed that when the doors where locked, the latch was also locked.... I actually like our old Freelander's feature - the gas cap could only be removed by inserting the driver's key into the cap and turning the key to open the cap -... -

I had this setup for a while; it was more for 2 adults / 2 kids / 2 adults, as we only have 1, with one on the way, and most of our friends only have one as well; this configuration would let 2 families head out to dinner in one vehicle. In your case, I'd probably be more tempted to go 2 side... -

Should you hear any air release when you turn the truck off
With our 2006, I have noticed the compressor on with the driver's side rear door open after loading my daughter into her seat (can't image a 2 year old weighs that much!); obviously the truck is already on at the time. I don't actually notice the truck raising, so I suspect the movement is... -

No reply isn't that surprising; their customer service is pretty non-existant, but the products are cheap! I'm about 99% sure that they play any region, but I'm not 100% sure - If I still have the manual kicking around, I'll look it up; I'm not super hopeful that the manual will show regions...
