Being in Access Mode for extended periods?
Only thing that has happened to mine is I slept in it on a camping trip in acess height with the wheels on slightly uneven terrain. At first start up in the morning a suspension fault popped up and said standard height only available. Turned it off and restarted and it was never to be seen... -

Thanks, I just folks would like to know what I had discovered. The rods are a good alternative just beware of maxing them out. Giving yourself a little room for the occasional unintended extended mode is really what I was after. They are fun to play with. :biggrin: The exhaust mod I did... -

Help convincing wife in taking LR3 offroad
Can always try and get in on a LR wheels event that a dealer does for a start. At least you can say you are going so LR can show more how the vehicle works. Then come back all excited with amazing stories of how well the vehicle perfomed and how much fun it was. -

For the hardware and single vehicle LR3 software license it ran about $1250 including $91 to ship to CA U.S. and a 3% CC surcharge of $38. But you can switch it to another LR for a small admin fee if you get a new one or want to sell it. -

Yes you can, it is like flashing new firmware to a computer component. I haven't messed with it much other then to check if I had the latest releases but to my understanding the software they use is from the dealer. Sometimes it takes a bit of time before they get a new release after it is... -

It is a great tool if you can justify spending the money on it. I love having it, it has opened up a whole new world of understanding how the sytems in the car work. And it is just plain fun to tinker with. :biggrin: -

I agree with duckdive but also for other reasons. My testing has shown 12mm maxes out the suspension and also increases possibilty of suspension faults. The reason is that each sensor only has a certain operational range and depending on each sensors calibration number to make the car... -

Should be, mine does Radio, AM or FM depending on where last left it before you hit the mode button, CD and then either Aux or SAT depending on where you last left that in. I think it talks about it in tha manual also. -

We have been doing this for years and have posted on here and the other forums. Actually it ends up not being very pratical as the car will drop out of extended mode as soon as go 8 mpg so you have to jump in out of the car alot to do it this way. What we end up doing most of the time... -

Yes I know all about the rod mod and how it works and what the new height is. Traveled over many offroad scenarios in super extended mode and even with only 31.7 " tires some rubbing occures. You probably didn't do anything on the LR Thousand Oaks Wheels event to cause full articulation or... -

Probably will be getting quite a bit of rub on the front of the rear wheel well as the wheel articulates up, even with a rod mod. Tires greater then 31.5 inch in diameter always do. -

A little of both. But the computer will be off some also. When I drive 300 miles on the odometer the gps tells me I went about 330. When I do the math I usually come up with about 2 to 3 miles more per gallon then the car computers says. -

Was it the brake light switch on the pedal? I went back through old notes on the subject and not sure what the break light sensor would be. The switch is known as a possible cause for this issue. -

The lower cost fault code reader would only read and clear faults which essentially would be ressetting the sensor fault. If the fault persist ie the bad break light sensor, it will come back, but it would also tell you that the break sensor was bad. The higher cost units like MSV-2 allows... -

Sounds like it was not bump stop limp mode, but he was stuck in access mode not the bump stops. Using the rod allowed him to run in access mode but at normal height to get home. Weather they would prove usueful for any other fault that may occur is another discussion. In the long run you... -

Child safety seat locations?
The center seat does have a third top latch anchor point by the way and you can put a toddler seat in the middle with no issue using the seat belt and the overtop latch anchor.
