What is this blanking cover in the dashboard

V8 5L - Thoughts on P0016 a year after chain change
I had a cam code on my 5.0L after a shop did my chain. The engine needed to be under load to fail. Punching a hole in the air on the freeway would do it in 4th pretty much every time. But the event included the limp mode or whatever the Land Rover speak is. Onramps would trigger it too sometimes.- powershift

Parasitic drain / Battery Monitoring
The alternator sounds strong, maybe a little too strong as I thought 15V would be the limit. On my '12 I'd expect the battery to be dead if I just leave it while camping for a few days so I disconnect the negative cable. I don't think anything is wrong with it, the brains take power. Roof rail mounting options?
The LR4 is built a lot like a 1/2 ton truck. 4,000 lbs IRS. I'd like to see how much it weighs empty at least in the back cargo area for the weight over the rear axle. Then subtract the weight from 4k for cargo capacity. The door sticker in mine has 1300 lbs cargo capacity but that is including...- powershift

Yes, it sounds that simple. They are electronic and can go bad. Buy the Land Rover brand from the dealer. I had it replaced proactively when I bought my rig at 97k mi.- powershift

2016 LR4 Under body blowoff or "air burst" sound, is this a dead compressor sound?
I seldom hear hiss and when I hear it bleed off air standing outside its mostly a second or two, not like a leaking air brake line on a truck. You'll burn out the compressor if you let it leak. Its not designed to handle that duty cycle long-term.- powershift

An African Safari rack where its full-length and has 2' tall side gates to encase the roof rack would be the way. Ride height sensors
Ah, I'm just trying to learn more about things that may happen to my rig. The ride height sensors do sound broken but you could also check the connections to/from them. Disconnect the wire lead, clean and retry. When buying parts for the air suspension I would stick with Land Rover brand bought...- powershift

Expert Level - Charging System Fault 2016 LR4
That reading is after one startup after a 60A charger was left on the battery for 7 hours with the negative cable disconnected. I was wanting to point out the 14.33V in the OPs test result is not enough. With the battery left disconnected overnight it will still read 13V. After a few days it...- powershift

Putting a volt meter on the battery with the engine running shows the alternator is putting out 14.9V and not 14.5V like I mentioned earlier in the thread. Then after shutting down and disconnecting the battery cable it sits at 13V. 12.9V+ is charged.- powershift

POS alternator. Mine charges way tf more then that at 14.5V or so. Read up on AGM battery charging. There may be times when it is at 13.6V, nothing wrong but staying at that voltage is a charging problem.- powershift

Does Land Rover have a policy regarding prior service history
You are basing all that on an assumption. For the pic at those miles the alternator may start failing. I'm doing mine proactively at 140k mi. Expensive units and with the new alternator I'm thinking about wiring a Victron 50A 12V DC charger for a Lifepo4 pack and keep the old alternator as a spare.- powershift

Rear Crossover Pipe leak confirmation Pictures
For my rig the pipe ties two coolant channels together, one on each side of the V of the block and then other engine parts connect to it for coolant.- powershift
