Rule of thumb is that whichever way the engine rotates, to loosen the fan you want to turn the nut in that same direction. -

I'm using a pair of Trail'd tanks mounted where the spare used to be underneath. I.e., they're really only there if I am kinda desperate. It's not too bad to empty them both, probably about 5 minutes each, but then I'm 6'2" and about 225 so it probably depends on how you're built. -

205,000 miles and about to service transmission question.
I would guess that a poorly-done service on an older transmission might loosen up some crud and deposit it in places where it might not have ended up had it been left alone. But IDK. And IDK whether that still equates to a "never flush an old transmission" or not. Seems likely that plenty of old... -

Jacking Options
I basically ground a bolt head down to the right diameter for the pin. I also put a hard rubber washer in on top of the jack. I unthreaded that bolt and the washer for both these pics, so hopefully it makes sense. -
