If it does it when the keyfob is away from the vehicle, I’d suspect a short to power - maybe a bad switch right in that tailgate. Might check for codes. -

LR4 5.0 Chain Guides actual problem?
Certain its the chains? Aside from chains and valves, exhaust manifold leak can make a tapping noise. Suggested in this thread: https://www.landroverworld.org/threads/identify-this-engine-noise.43860/page-2#post-234873, although we didn’t get confirmation as to what was causing the noise there. -

Ended up with compos, 265/60’s. Obviously no rubbing with the slightly smaller tire, and tire fits underneath fully inflated. Accommodates stock TPMS. -
Need some help/advice on my washer fluid pump...I think
Not sure - might try to detect a clogged (frozen) line (i.e., maybe pump drawing more power) and turn it off to prevent burning the pump out. I see a code in the manual (B1051-23) relating to the washer switch (signal stuck-low, whatever that means). Maybe there are others as well. -

I think the situation would be a DTC starting with a “B”. Some of the codes are protective - they seem to shut the circuit off until they are cleared. We’ve seen reports of that for the tailgate actuator in some instances, and from jlach993’s post above it seems like it might be the same deal... -

Might be able clear the code with a cheap generic reader. And she can just pair your iid with her phone I think. The iid can pair with other phones, just not other vehicles. -
engine stalling
Seems like quite a coincidence that the hp fuel pump dies right after they are working on the valve cover, but maybe that’s it. Valve cover removal requires removal of the fuel rails and injectors. Wonder if an injector got damaged or is maybe leaking (they’re supposed to replace the seals... -
Really Stupid Question - Time required to reach operating temperature (V6)?

Stripped bolt hole for 5.0L water pump
Certainly looks like a leak from the pump itself to me. The gaskets on the intake/outlet look like they’re degrading, at least from the pic. If so, I’ll bet the same thing is happening to the gasket between the two halves of the pump. I’d send those picks to Lucky8 and ask for your money back. -

@Localschauss: That last video you posted still reminds me of a manifold leak. We’ve had some reports of the bolts shearing off on the v6’s - not sure about the v8’s. Look up some videos for manifold leak ticking noises and see what you think. Here’s one, but it’s from a Ford F-150, so maybe... -

There seems to be a number of outputs missing on the later models. Haven’t check the state of charge, but I know the pulse-width for the fuel injectors is missing. -
