    LR4 Summer 50/50 Tire Recs

I run the Toyo at3 and have been impressed with their durability off-road, when aired down (25psi send about as low as I'm comfortable with the 19's). I'm hoping I can move to 18's and run either ko2 or ko3 next time I'm due for tires.

Suspension noise (possibly lower control arm)

The ones I removed were the original that had poly bushings installed, replacements were lemforder.

Suspension noise (possibly lower control arm)

I tried a 4lb sledge and the only thing I managed to do was dent the knuckle. The ball joint would not release. I tried a pickle fork I had, and all it did was tear the boot and bend (yay harbor freight). Ended up with this kit and it worked great: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09CT1XTK9

    Bad PCV?

I replaced the PCV valves a bit ago and I noticed while doing the oil change today that one of them looks oily while the other looks dry. Time to get another one and try again? No running issues, and I'm still losing about a liter of oil per 5k miles, which is unchanged from before the PCV...

    Secondary battery for camping

The BCM is on the ground path of the signal line from the relay, so it will be able to detect if there's no load when it tries to energize the relay to turn those sockets on. I haven't verified that it cares mind you, pulling one of the relays and scanning for codes would tell you.

    Secondary battery for camping

Might be simpler adding a toggle switch to the door switch, so that even when the door is closed, the truck thinks it's open? I looked at this a bit for keeping the accessory sockets powered longer than 3 minutes. I think you might be able to change the power source for some of this stuff by...

2014 Land Rover LR4, suspension faults after compressor and valve block work

2015 LR4 126,000 miles What Preventive Maintenance to do next?

The poly bushings also change the loads on the control arms, where impacts that used to be absorbed by the rubber now aren't. I remember seeing a picture of a failed control arm in a post here, where the metal around the bushing at the front of the LCAs gave out (@djkaosone was it you?) For...

2014 Land Rover LR4, suspension faults after compressor and valve block work

Telling you that you can't update firmware to AMK is wrong. It's also suspect that you would have had water in your air lines. To me it sounds like they were trying the parts cannon approach with a veneer of supposed expertise

2014 Land Rover LR4, suspension faults after compressor and valve block work

I don't remember exactly where, but I remember stumbling across it when I was poking around the app. I still have a Hitachi compressor so never had to run the procedure.

Gap IID tool can update the firmware to AMK, that should be the first thing. Second thing is your mechanic sounds a bit shady.

2015 LR4 126,000 miles What Preventive Maintenance to do next?

I mistakenly listened to advice and had poly bushings installed when we purchased ours in 2017 to replace worn out OEM ones. The 'lifetime' aspect appealed to me, but the harshness over bumps got to me and I replaced them with lemforder ones when I had to do tie rods. Noticeable reduction in...

Rear Heater Manifold Pipe Replacement Without removing Supercharger - The Beginning

Land Rover now make an alu rear heater manifold for the V6, you might look into that.

Strange errors occurring randomly 2012 LR4 HSE

I would have gone back in and had them test the battery after the failed start. It might read fine right after you stopped driving because the alternator was charging it. If the jump pack helped, that points the battery not having had enough charge as the alternator isn't doing anything yet.

    C1D21-05 (6C) fault

When I was looking for them, Lucky8 had the best deal on Continental ones (which I believe are what came with my 2012). They were out of stock due to COVID though, and I had to get new tires (old ones were delaminating), so I skipped. Once the sensors died, I just disabled TPMS. Concern with...

    Coolant change/flush?

I think the maintenance schedule is not rooted in engineering, but in human psychology and business profits. Buyers perceive that something is sealed for life, and for their usual short ownership that's a claim they won't test but makes them feel like it was engineered to last forever. By the...

    Coolant change/flush?

yes, you have to replace the entire pan. You can however get a two-piece setup where the pan is separate from the filter, making subsequent changes easier.

I agree it’s likely the cowl cover. Mine is tweaked too on the passenger side, I will need to keep an eye out. Last I looked fcpeuro carried them.

    Lift Question

I'd check that you aren't out of spec. You should be able to measure from the center of the wheel to the wheel arch, and cross check to the workshop manual, accounting for your 2.5" lift. It could be your rear end was configured to be high, independently of the lift rods.
