SCV6 responsiveness off idle
From what I can tell, yes, the sport mode has higher revs between shifts and what feels like faster/firmer shifts. SCV6 responsiveness off idle
I’ve found that it took some getting used to for me on a drive-by-wire throttle body vs cable linked peddle. Intake Valve Cleaner Chemicals - Your Opinion on Immediate Change of Oil
I’ve used several different brands of intake cleaner from seafoam, CRC, B12 etc. and have never changed the oil following. Not saying that’s right, just what I’ve done on multiple vehicles. Only time I’ve used a product and changed the oil was when putting seafoam in the crankcase.- 16FujiDisco

I was thinking the NA V8 and the SCV6 were pretty close in hp and tq; like less than 30 hp and ft/lb different. That being said, it’s been a loooong time since I drove the v8. Coolant Crossover Pipe Leaking? Found an EASY way to tell!
100% agree! I have one that that plugs into my phone and runs off an app; super cheap <$20 with color picture. I did the exact same thing once I had replaced my pipes to check for leaks. They only issue I had was do to my own error of routing the belt under a pulley instead of over. It was fine for several hundred miles until the belt stretched and started rubbing on the bracket causing a squeal. Just glad I caught it before it broke. Considering an LR4. Would you buy one at 100k mileage?
Me personally, I’d only be interested in something with 100k+ on the clock if it was 1-cheap to fix or 2-for recreation use. I love my LR4 but wouldn’t pay the $15-20k that people want for one with that mileage and/or age, and it sure doesn’t qualify as cheap to fix. I like to get my used cars...- 16FujiDisco

The Great Engine Oil Debate
Just got back my second analysis from Blackstone; seems the liqui moly LR spec is doing a good job. Both of my samples had roughly 5k mi. on them, but I did go 7k in between one time. I mainly switched back to 5k for time purposes since I’m around 10k annually.- 16FujiDisco

Particulate on Valves - HELP!!
I’ve used the CRC stuff (it came in a GDI cleaning kit) with no negative effects. I’ve also used the Berryman kit with no side effects. Don’t these take iridium or platinum plugs? I didn’t think you you gap them anymore than what was set, but maybe you get a set that has a different gap and matches the thread pitch/length etc.- 16FujiDisco

That’s always been my take as well. I’m sure since a lot of manufacturers are going to smaller displacement engines with turbos, that the strain is not as bad as cold cranking a v8 or v6.
