I am swapping my oil this fall at 6k kms (3750 miles) but not the filter :0 because I think 12k kms (7500 miles) is too long on the oil and my real fear is fuel dilution (thank you DI) and dirty oil coating the back sides of the intakes. I do oil/filter in the spring and oil in the fall. The filters are essentially clean when I cut them apart so I am OK doing those once a year every 12k kms. This LR4 sees a lot of short trips in cold weather (and not California cold but -20 -30 stuff) so my theory is the oil doesn't warm up enough to burn the contaminants out of the oil. To top side the oil and refill takes all of maybe 10 minutes so no hassle other than some $$s. Since my Mobil1 extended Performance is roughly half the cost as designer Motul it is like doing Motul yearly at 7500 miles. I guess whatever helps you sleep at night. At this point the Rover is mostly driven by the daughter anyhow.
So far so good on my 2010 with about 125k miles on the original tensioners/chains. Next stop 200k miles on the originals.
