Reinforce fuel tank cradle?
Anyone ever thought about reinforcing the fuel tank cradle? It looks like the lucky 8 skid plate doesn't add anything other than another layer/thicker material to the mix? Wondering if I can just sandwich an aluminum sheet to it as long as there's no sharp edges/ bolts that can poke the tank...- MellonRover

Timing chain question: proactive or wait?
If chain is quiet, just let it be. Keep up on 5k oil changes and it will likely last to 200k +. In mechanics defense, only those familiar with land rover/jaguar would know about the crossovers. Valve covers would likely start leaking around 120-130k, so I'd just wait until they do.- MellonRover

Second set of injectors out. That rear one was hard to get a bite on. So I pulled the o-ring and nylon washer off. That allowed me to get bite with standard puller and pop it. So no results for " new" screw puller tool. Back to Amazoon they go. But, can I just say those two rear drivers 10mm for...- MellonRover

The battery box/ abs pump sides? Yeah I removed both left and right 1/2 of the boxes. There's a seam through the bottom, you can just take off the half closest to engine. Took oil filter out too to get Valve cover out- MellonRover

Tracking down suspension leak
If one strut is leaking and fuse isn't pulled, both will be flat. Mine did that overnight in the cold and it self leveled itself in the rear to bump stops.- MellonRover

As much as they are " cooler", wanted one since Europa was the only was the only way to get an imported one, They are an old design, but have solid axles and came triple locked. Lower steering shaft U joint replacement
Atlantic British is an allmakes. Put one in my 2010 two years ago, got another last week for the 2012. I didn't want to do the job twice, so got the better one. That's the one you want. Still like $300, but job is fiddly and it'll be worth it.- MellonRover

Because it has the seal tool Also got new seals. Don't want to have issues. Purchased the alternate style too...- MellonRover

So, the new 2012 HD has bad drip on drivers side VC. So I'll have to do them. Any recommendations on injector puller? Shell out for a Baum, or save and get identical clone? Had a bad storm a few weeks ago. Tree fell, bounced off kids basketball hoop, then my rover. Thank goodness it wasn't a large tree. Took out roof rack, bent long bars, third brake light and the glass roof. Going to attempt to do the glass myself. Hope I can stop for pics, as I usually end up...- MellonRover

Worn pad light
Check the sensor wire. Mine cracked and was rubbing the wheel. Had plenty of pad left, so I looped the wire back on itself until I could get a new sensor. Light is gone...- MellonRover

LR4 in boneyard - what should I pluck?
When I went I got valve blocks front and rear, reservoir valve ( center block) compressor ( if same amk vs Hitachi) , air tank ( mine was rusty), and anything In better cosmetic shape knobs, center wood piece, Rear third light, wiper arm. Also cut some fiber optic for a test splice piece.- MellonRover

Key Fob Help - 2012 LR4
Mine only had one fob when I bought it, I bought a used factory fob from eBay ( smaller one) for ~$60 and coded it to get a second fob. Only have one actual key ( emergency blade) though.- MellonRover
