Ok, so hit the trails today. Did every green and a couple blues... Was a total blast, my buddy with the jeep was totally pussn' out on a couple of trails/hill climbs even though he's got several inches of ground clearance on me as well as steel bumpers. Anyway the LR3 kicked ass, and was one of...
Green Ridge is a cool place to go, I went there for my first time with my LR3 (when it was bone stock) and a couple jeeps and a mitsubishi montero... The RRS will do perfectly fine, just watch your rims on some off the rocks there, I scratched my stock 19s when i was there. Here's a couple pics...
Thanks a lot, I was actually planning on just hitting the greens with him, but since you said blues I'm going for it. How much did you need your sliders? I have a plate over the compressor but nothing over the tank or sills on either side.
Also, which section of the park did you go to? West...
Yup the Rig does it on its own. It locks it when it deems necessary to regain traction. No manual way to do it. You can play around with the Terrain response and use "left-foot" braking to sometimes make it become more active.
Heading up to Rausch Creek on this saturday with a buddy of mine.
Has anyone been to there with their rig? (I know morrisdl has) If so, have any favorite trails that i should be running?
P.S.
I'm running 32" Cooper STTs, the rod mod, have the GNVP sump guard and compressor plate for amour...
I, for one, haven't noticed any braking issues like that, and have the rear locker... but i have never been in that long of a period of constant traction control haha
I have one on my LR3, and i searched for one with it specifically. I'm very glad i have it, and the full sized spare. But honestly if you don't want to spend the money for whatever reason you will get along fine without one because the traction control almost invalidates the need for a locker...
Interesting concept but the trick would be mounting it to a successful place on the frame... and like the factory winch basket it decreases the departure angle.
I personally like the hidden winch concept because at least it keeps the stock angles, and of course a steel bumper would be the most...
So i played around with this last time i was on the beach and the most important thing was not the TR setting but that you of course lower your tire pressure. I actually started out doing what Nathan (nwoods) suggested in his blog which was to use sand mode + low range + 2nd or 3rd gear and...
The only rubbing I've had with the STTs is going in reverse and turning the wheel full lock and that definitely rubs but i just go almost to full lock when backing up and no problem. I keep checking after being off camber and stuffing the rear wheels (like the first pic i posted) and I haven't...
LOL i looked back at them and your right they do kinda look like an R/C car, that hill the construction guys made was pretty big (and steep), it had to be like 45 degrees at least... I dug my front bumper in on the decent and the rear one coming off it... and when i picked a different line...
Houm and Duckdive are right, 275/65 R18 Cooper STTs (and i LOVE them)... And my rack is a full length Rover Racks rack...(and LOVE it too)
And yes it was very fun... nothing like dragging your bumpers and getting wheels in the air less than a mile from your house
I'd love too, but i just dont like the idea of possibly getting a suspension fault and being SOL riding on the bump stops with 32s 3 hours too the closet dealer.... lol it'd probably be cheaper to get a faultmate to fix the possible suspension fault, but i'm not going to be doing any hardcore...
I'll try Pirelli tomorrow if I can't get the tires locally at like a sears auto center or merchants tire etc.
Glad to hear you like the ATRs, since i'm going back to 19s for a while i really wanted to replace the stock tires on them... and keep some off road traction (that i've grown quite...
Looked all over the web trying to find a place that has them in stock and nada. I even placed an order at Discount tire direct under the impression that they had them... but I got a call today saying they were out of stock.
I am missing something, Has the tire been discontinued?
I am...
