Premium VS Regular Gas
I believe Dave is right. Shouldn't gunk up your valves at all. The knock sensor should compensate and you COULD experience a slight loss in power. -

Pleasantly surprised by gas mileage
Just got back from an 800 mile trip on the California coast - combination of 65-mph freeway and 55-mph or less windy Pacific Coast Hwy. 6 people, a dog and 2 cargo boxes on the roof. Averaged about 17 mpg. -

Another roof rack question
As far as mounting a luggage rack AND a cargo box, I think there are 2 possible ways to do it, but neither is great. 1. You could get some long-ass cross bars and mount a luggage rack from Thule or Yakima, e.g. next to a cargo box (probably not a huge box). I have 66" Yakima cross bars... -

The SkyBox 18 and SkyBox 21 fit perfectly on the LR4 and don't interfere with the hatch. For hitch-mounted bike carriers, there is a good thread on here from last year. Do a search. I recommended the Kuat NV. -

Experience installing short roof rails
I've got black short rails on my Santorini Black truck. Truth is, you can't really see them very well from the ground anyway, so it won't make a big difference. The black matches the black window trim and antenna, but I'm sure either is fine. -
