    Engine Light

I'd lean toward the T-Stat sticking and I'll also throw in that the light is on because you have had multiple "exceeded time to reach operating temperature" events.

I'd also throw a couple 20' snatch straps in the back too.

    Upkeep for long-term

I also need to R2 the t-stat. It's stuck open. While we were on vacation Colorado it threw a code for:Excessive time to reach operating temp. Not a big problem in Florida but since were moving to Co. next week and winter will be setting in I better get it tightened up!

    Front Grill Touch Up Paint?

I found a site in the UK that sells LR touch up paint in either spray or brush. Let me dig around to see if I can locate it again. I looked for the same thing earlier this year in Chawton White.

Kindly, please explain why the light pattern/output of the HID bulb installed in the factory LR Halogen Projector bulb housing is eerily similar to a factory LR HID, if they "are entirely different and require different reflectors and lenses."

    HID installed

Something I'd like to look into is LR putting Halogen bulbs in HID housings to get a better beam and performance out of the halogen bulbs. You see it becoming more common in automobiles. You would have to admit that the above mentioned picture of the aftermarket HID throws a light exactly like...

    HID installed

The grey area involved in this discussion is that aftermarket HID kits are being installed into the projector housing of the LR4. It's not your typical refraction type halogen housing which disperses light. If you look at post 11 in this thread...

    First Service Lesson Learned

The Bosch blades are great. Also in a snowy climate I also treated the windshield and back glass with RainX to help the snow/sleet slip off easier.

Now when you say "Learns about them" are you saying they are, at this moment, ignorant to the fact that they exist? I highly doubt it. So point blank, they know about them and they are doing nothing about the production or sale of aftermarket HID kits.

    Bluetooth Auto Connect

I'm having a problem connecting my HTC EVO to our LR3. When I scan for devices it locates LAND ROVER. I punch in the code 2121 and..... ..... ..... nothing. The phone continuously says pairing with device. And that's it. Am I missing something important?

I'll second you on the 5000K over the 6000's. The color is more of a "lightning white" and very close to LR OEM ( I have the DDM 5000K in or E Class), very little blue. Finlayforprez would be more inclined to answer your questions on wiring though. I know on our car I had to run the Error...

    New Defenders on the horizon

I found this on the FLD channel on YouTube. Sounds like prototypes are in the works, so, maybe a couple of years and they'll be in dealerships. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VExyHi6jCx4&feature=feedu

baobay, quick question. Did you have to install the resistor inline with your kit to bypass the "headlight out" indicator, if there is one on the LR4. I had to do that for our E class to avoid the warning. I installed the 55W in our car and they are BRIGHT!!! I had to re-aim the beam a lot...

DDMTuning, good stuff. I used their kit on our E Class. I've been kicking around the idea of upgrading the fogs on our LR3 to HID. My only concern was, how well the electronics would hold up when fording water. I know the connections are water "resistant" but would you trust them to go...

Weird question but i am asking

If you ever sat on a tailgate for lunch and the thought of it ever breaking ever crossed your mind, you sir should go for a run, instead of having lunch.

Weird question but i am asking

400# shouldn't be a problem. I've sat on my friend's LR4 tailgate with two other guys, for lunch and didn't think twice about it. You should be fine.
