Rob and I were talking about the removal of your running boards on the last run you made. I had mistakenly thought that you ripped one off and he corrected me. That's how I found out your name.
Your rubbing issue may have to do with the offset of your rims. You mentioned it may not be the...
Yeah, I've read what Nathan has listed on his website and here but since no talk of tires has happened recently I thought I'd re-ask the question.
You bought synchrones for $450? just tires alone or rims and tires? Either way it's a steal. We paid like $225 each for the tires but they are...
Ok, I've made a deal and will be receiving some LR3 18" wheels. Now I need to know what tires to put on them.
These will be used primarily for offroad use. For daily driving I still have my 19's with Syncrones. I will need to roll on these new tires to get to my offroad destinations...
We had a great experience buying our LR3 at Land Rover Portland. I'd refer you to our sales guy but he works as a service manager now so it wouldn't help.
The service dept is good. They try their hardest to fix problems and are pretty good with communication. And loaners are available...
I definately plan on keeping an eye on it.
As for the "reasons" they gave me, supposedly those were passed on from the glass company that did the windshield replacement for the dealership. But we will see.
Dealership replaced the windshield. They claim that the urethane didn't cure properly on the last windshield as well as the 4 "reseals" that they performed. The claim is also that the old windshield was "warped".
I'm still pursuing this via LRNA. And only time will tell if I'm finally leak...
The change in engine supposedly took place mid production of the 2005 LR3. If memory serves me one of the parts guys said that early 2005 production (actually made in 2004) was a BMW sourced 4.4l V8 before they switched to the Jag V8.
Now the reason we noticed this was we were looking up on...
I've noticed that the 06 and 07 V8's get better mileage then my 05 V8. LR parts dept claims that this is because they changed engines. Dunno if that's true or not.
You do realize that running the 50 series tires that your tire diameter is 1 inch shorter then what is stock for your LR3 right? Your speedometer is off by 3.5%.
If you decide to keep your 19" rims then you can safely buy the correct size of 255/55R19. If you proceed with that route then I...
I've found that if you talk in a normal voice like you would talk to another person in the cabin it will work much better. It seems that I used to think I had to shout at it and I experienced the same thing where it wouldn't understand much of what I said.
It also seems that it works best...
Heard back from the dealership about an hour ago. Sunroof drains have been checked and verified clean, unplugged, and unpinched yet the leak continues. They are going to replace the windshield AGAIN. :argh:
If you decide to stick with 19" rims, I recommend the Michelins. We recently put them on our LR3 and they are night and day different then the crappy Goodyears that these trucks come with.
It's most definately not a leaky drain. There is substantial water ingress into the cabin. This morning when I got in to take it to the dealership over a cup of water dumped out of the headliner and onto the floor, down the windshield and into the dash, down the a-pillar, etc.
My biggest...
I live in Washington (Vancouver) but bought the LR3 in Portland. From what I can tell I'm subject to Oregon laws but either state have good lemon laws..
The first time we noticed the leak was 1.5 months after taking delivery.
Not a Duck or Beaver fan. I don't really keep up with sports...
I've driven both V6 and V8 (I own a V8 HSE) and agree with GMTIIFAN, the V8 is smoother. They both accelerate about the same but the V6 seems a bit louder and like it is struggling a bit more to match pace with the V8.
I would definately drive both to compare for yourself.
Thanks for that link. I emailed them for a free consultation to see if they think I'm eligible. It'll give me more ammo on Tuesday when I take the truck in for repair/discussion.
To date, all 5 times it's been in for this issue have fallen within the first 30 months. This will be the 6th time it's been in for the same leak. The last "fix" lasted almost 1 year before we noticed it leaking again.
I fully plan on discussing with them a replacement LR3 when I go in on...
I agree, I believe it is a good case for Lemon Law however I've read over the laws for both Washington and Oregon (where I bought the car) and both of them say that a filing can only be made within the first 30 months after delivery if you are the original purchaser. We took delivery in May of...
