Kuat NV Bike Rack (hitch mount) on LR4
While we're talking bike racks, I'm using the Yakima Swingdaddy. It can fit 4 road bikes, but it's definitely a tight fit when there's 4 on there. The top half of the hatch can't quite clear the rack with it locked in its normal position, but I guess that's where the swing-away option works well. -

Thanks. I'm guessing there was some bad wood in there, and I'll be fine. If it's really just a thin veneer over metal, that should generally hold up okay to heat. A thinner piece of wood should be able to tolerate temperature changes fairly well. -

I let the tint guys handle it, and 22% is what they picked. They were shooting to match the tint of the back windows. By my eye it, it looks barely lighter than the back windows. Here's a bad cellphone pic: The tint shop has a great reputation in town. It was referred to me by a buddy... -

They swapped it out on Thursday, and I didn't think to ask to see the old one. I'm kicking myself. But the tint was also done on Thursday, and the truck now looks completely awesome. It's 22% on the front two, and really brings the look together. Hopefully between the fully tinted windows... -

Agreed. I had a line on a brand new Baltic Blue with Black Package, and I'm happy that didn't work out. Blue with black kind of looks like a big bruise, ha. -

The contrast with the black package (that you mentioned earlier) will be nice. Get the front windows tinted and the whole thing will look sharp with the silver/black combo. -

Okay, this is a pretty tough thing to capture in a photo. My SLR couldn't get it, but of all things, my crappy cell phone got a pic where you can /kind of/ see it. Hopefully you can see that swelling and the crease where it's about to crack. -

Yep, that was an Evoque. Kind of funny that he ended up parking next to me. Not sure if he had to take off a wheel or two to get his bike in the back, but I kind of doubt it. Did your friend have to lose a wheel for it to fit? -

Real-world update: The LR4 is great for hauling your cycling team. 5 dudes, 5 bikes, and one 4-bike carrier (the 5th bike had its wheels removed with frame and wheelset sitting on top of the bags in the back). -

Key falling apart
I took apart my plastic/chrome key yesterday, and there's a rubber gasket that seals the electronic bits from the outside world. I'd guess that it would survive a quick submersion.
