I agree with most of what you said except I'm not a big fan of KBB and it's value as a negotiating tool. If I was a dealer I would tell you sell it to KBB. The Mannheim auction numbers I think are valuable but impossible to get. If you know where real cars are being offered you can can subtract... -

That's what I thought but there are 2010s offered in the Boston area in the $40,000 area. The first dealer claims he's going to retail it in the 38,000s for a quick sale, but he could be full of crap. I checked a 2nd store who bid me $34,000 and claimed he was going to list it at $40,000... -

Picked up my Causeway Grey LR4...
I'm still haggling on my trade of my 2010 Lux (including the surround cameras and vision assist) with 41,000 miles. The dealer is willing to pay 33,000, which I think is a bit light. I took a look at the Causeway on the lot and am glad I chose it over Orkney, but wish Stornaway was still available. -

Thanks for posting. I'm waiting for almost the same spec to arrive in June. Does Causeway look almost black in some light conditions, or does it always look grey? I'm trading in my 2010 Stornaway Grey and chose Causeway because the Orkney replacement for Stornaway is too light in my opinion... -

I think one reason the depreciation is so crazy low on the LR4 is that it's reasonably priced vs. the competition. I came from an Acura MDX which is now $52,000 fully loaded, and I think it's not in the same league as the LR4. The great LR4 resale value takes a big bite out of the relatively... -

Just saw Count Laszlo's post and I guess my $1,000 for dealer prep might be low - but I still think you can clear in the 40s. There's also a chance that the dealer might work thinner than 3,000 if he's got the other side of your trade. -

I took a quick look online and in my area 2011s are offered for sale in the mid to high 40,000s. Your HSE with the low mileage and the service done should probably be in the higher end of that range even after getting the dealer to bargain (used LR4s are in short supply in my area). So, if you... -
