Really Stupid Question - Time required to reach operating temperature (V6)?
A 15 minute idle in those temps would get me to about 1/3-1/2 of normal operating temp. After a 10 minute drive I would be very close to normal operating temp, if not all the way. Thank you for that recommendation, I just checked them out. I didn't know these existed but I will definitely use these in the future for higher torque applications. Due to the cost (3-4X) and wait time for shipping I'll try the Helicoil this time, but I'll keep time sert in mind for the next one. -

Yes you are correct they are to be torqued to 8 ft/lbs. In hindsight I should have just torqued them by feel with a 1/4" ratchet rather than trusting a cheap torque wrench that I had never used before. Live and learn I guess. Fortunately the stripped out hole is the easiest to access so... -
